True but you're always on the same range of IP's if you're using a specific ISP, for example BT.
You can do a IP whois lookup and see which ISP owns the IP range.

You can also do a tracert ip.addy.here at a command line for example, it'll check and see if there is a DNS.
Often, especially with cable companies, the specific town can be seen, ntl is well known for it for example.

It's one of the dick heads - probably the one you named in your PM, and you're right to be distrustful since part of their game is to post stuff that's illegal to try & get the place closed down. I hope you kept the screen shots from a while back, with the threats. I wouldn't agonise over their innocence if I were you.

Certainly if you're able to pinpoint the person's whereabouts, I'd be interested. Just out of sheer curiosity, you understand. I'm sure a lot of people would - maybe if you PM'd that info rather than posting it on an open forum. :)
