Hpanwo forum Admin notice:
I think members should be aware that Droike has joined the Host’s Support Forum and is currently posting long and angry diatribes against me and the HPANWO Forum. I assumed that the Support Forum was private and only accessible to forum admin account-holders, but that is not the case.
He is accusing me of breaching the Host’s Terms of Service. I have not responded to these posts because it is part of my current slash-and-ban policy never to engage Droike in conversation, even on other forums. The problem is that if you look through the list of the Host’s TOS, see the link at the bottom of the page, you’ll swiftly realize that probably almost all Internet forums commit very minor breaches of those TOS at some point. The Host reserves the right to remove any forum that contravenes any of the TOS, so you see that often the deciding factor in a forum’s survival is not whether or not they contravene the TOS, but whether, and how vehemently (and skillfully! ), somebody complains about them.
I’m sure you all understand that Droike doesn’t give a damn about any breaches of the TOS; his motive is to get the HPANWO Forum shut down. We have a situation rather like many people experience when living next door to an unfriendly neighbour: The neighbour will make constant complaints to the council for you putting your dustbin out half an hour to early or having you car parked 6 inches too close to his driveway etc.
In truth this is the kind of thing everybody does and although it counts officially as breaking regulations, the breach is so petty that nobody bothers about it. However on the rare occasions somebody does bother about it the council has to act because it’s still officially a breach of regulations, and the nasty neighbour knows this and takes advantage of that fact!
So what do we do about it? Well if the Host acts, which it may well be obliged to according to its own licence, we may be given an opportunity to continue on a “work-to-rule” basis, with Droike knowing that he can immediately report any infringement of that situation and get us taken down. In the advent of this I recommend we cooperate as much as we can; let the baby have his bottle! We can still operate fairly normally under those circumstances. If the worst happens and we are shut down then we have two further choices:
1: We be the victim that Droike wants us to be, wallow in self-pity and resentment, slink off and lick our wounds and rant on about how much we hate Droike, give up on having a forum ever again.
2: Alternatively we show a bit of that Hospital Portering Spirit that HPANWO has always championed. We refuse to give in to bullying and trolling! We start the New HPANWO Forum and make it the best forum in the Conspiracy/Paranormal Forum Community! (We can even cash in on the publicity that being shut down will inevitably bring. In which case we should thank Droike for giving it to us! ). And if we lose that one we start HPANWO Forum Three!... and Four.. and five! So if this forum disappears for any reason look to the blog sites and the HPANWO TV channel for further instructions. I promise I will be there!
This is what it truly means to have Hospital Porters’ Pride and Dignity! This is what separates empty waffling from golden words of true freedom!... Who’s with me!?
