As with most art I like movies that have a point, that have something to say about an issue and get you thinking.

Today I watched a Robert Redford movie called The Conspirator which was really good I think.

I would provide links etc but I can't really.

It is a movie drama about the people who stood trial for conspiring to kill President Lincoln.

The movie follows the trial and it is relevant to the aftermath of 911 as pointed out by some critics I believe.

They are so set on convicting the conspirators that they abandon the rule of law which also brings bin laden to mind.

Anyway it is a really good movie.

I will add more as I see them or rematch them. Hopefully you can all suggest some to me too.

it's about collusion between intelligence agencies and oil companies for the purposes of controlling resources.
one of the few truthful movies to come out of hollywood in recent years.

Another great one

After being caught in a scandalous situation days before the election, the president does not seem to have much of a chance of being re-elected. One of his advisers contacts a top Hollywood producer in order to manufacture a war in Albania that the president can heroically end, all through mass media.

Interesting film that never seems to get mentioned. Has Gore Vidal in it.

They don't make TV like this any more. Fucking superb.

Ken Loach at his finest. Except subtitles seem to be missing from Segments in Spanish on this vid.
