The world's first geneticallymodified humans have been created, it was revealed last night.
The disclosure that 30 healthy babies were born after a series of experiments in the United States provoked another furious debate about ethics.
So far, two of the babies have been tested and have been found to contain genes from three 'parents'.
Fifteen of the children were born in the past three years as a result of one experimental programme at the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science of St Barnabas in New Jersey.
The babies were born to women who had problems conceiving. Extra genes from a female donor were inserted into their eggs before they were fertilised in an attempt to enable them to conceive.
Genetic fingerprint tests on two one-year- old children confirm that they have inherited DNA from three adults --two women and one man.
The fact that the children have inherited the extra genes and incorporated them into their 'germline' means that they will, in turn, be able to pass them on to their own offspring.
Altering the human germline - in effect tinkering with the very make-up of our species - is a technique shunned by the vast majority of the world's scientists.
Geneticists fear that one day this method could be used to create new races of humans with extra, desired characteristics such as strength or high intelligence.

This is some seriously creepy business. Next thing you know, they will be splicing in animal DNA or something(like that movie Splice) if they aren't already! Man, the future looks weird...

Nail on the head, Andy. That movie outlines a possibility pretty well. There are also calls to genetically engineer humans to consume less food, and have a smaller build to combat 'climate change'. Basically it's a weak attempt to create a tiny working class subspecies. Another one was engineering our species to have an aversion to meat eating. I think that's probably the worst idea conceived. Our species didn't get to where it is now by adopting a specialized diet. Our omnivorous diets allowed our species to populate most of the land. If say an asteroid were to impact and blot out sunlight, our crops wouldn't make it. There would be a high chance that our species could go extinct. It also appears to be driven by conglomerates like Monsanto and Dupont who want to create a monopoly on the world's food supplies with their genetically modified plants. I won't even get into the ludicrousness of the 'climate change' models.

I believe this has been done many times,...... anything like this that hits MSM has.
We're being merciless tampered with .
Yup, Gattica was an insightful movie.
Next thing you know, you'll be able to pick the genes you want your kids to have online and they'll match you up with 'suitable donors' to make you a customized child...

that's really messed up stuff. Tackling a made up threat with the idea of making humans, well not human. This is a product of Adgenda 21 and see the transhumanist agenda creeping in.
The thing is, most of these environmental nutters who dream this stuff up come from privileged upbringings and have no idea about what it's like to live in the real world. They are waiting for 'the big die off' and rubbing their hands with glee at the prospect of it. Meanwhile middle class do-gooders are suckered in because sustainability is trendy. It's all a big mess and I wish people could see through the lies.

Agreed, it is messed up. It does appear to be heavily motivated by the agenda 21 material. The idea is completely insane. It doesn't address the real problems. What it does is expect the general populations to change. What should happen is a complete global economic reform. Fractional reserve banking, consumer driven models, and planned obsolescence should all be kicked to curb. In my humble opinion, these are at the root of all the needless suffering/inequality, pollution, and ecological devastation. The people at the top pushing agendas like this don't want to change these models because they would lose their power and influence. They're not thinking about the continuity of our species, or the other species of the planet. It's evident that they aren't fit to continue to make decisions for the collective.
*Cough* David de Rothschild *Cough* I hope people do see through it too. People are becoming more consciously aware, so the element is still there.

David de Rothschild is one of them. Prince Phillip said he'd like to come back as a lethal virus and wipe out most of the World's population and Prince Charles wants us all to shower less and live in the dark so we can save the planet. You also have all the 'experts'who often come from wealthy families and went to public school etc. They are all in on it.
I think you're right about what needs to change and it's not in their interests to do so. It's all our fault of course.
You might have heard me harp on about this before, but I got very disillusioned when I volunteered with my local Transition Towns group doing an eco homes event. It's just for affluent upper middle class (or wanabees) people. Yes, you can save on bills etc, but only if you have the money to throw at it. Certain people are making a pretty penny from all this 'going green' and 'sustainability'. A lot of it is just greenwashing though, people buy this shit because it's the 'in thing'.
This year the local Agenda 21 have taken over it the event, so they can feck off with their eco-homes now, I'm not doing anything for that lot for free! There are very sinister undertones with Agenda 21 and the whole 'green' movement. I don't want to start banging on because I'll get angry, but I think you know where I'm coming from.

I wasn't aware of Prince Philip's quote. I looked it up, and it is disturbing.
I just wonder what it would be like to be reincarnated in an animal whose species had been so reduced in numbers than it was in danger of extinction. What would be its feelings toward the human species whose population explosion had denied it somewhere to exist... I must confess that I am tempted to ask for reincarnation as a particularly deadly virus.
Prince Charles just strikes me as being strange, so I wouldn't be surprised if he did say that. As for the other experts, I am aware of them. Some people will say what-ever for the right price.
I didn't see you talk about your experience with your local transition towns group. I'm all for real sustainability and ecological respect, but as you know, not much of the 'green tech' is actually green. It never will be truly green with the way things are designed to break down and be thrown away. Some of it's actually environmentally toxic like compact fluorescent lightbulbs (CFLs). They contain mercury. They're also poorly designed and put out 'dirty energy'. They've been shown to emit toxic levels of EMF, which can cause health problems when exposed to it. I've been having family members try and convince me to volunteer too, but I've thus far refused. I'm glad to see that my thoughts on it were fairly accurate, thanks to you sharing your experiences.

Most new articles will focus on genetic engineering, using only human DNA, to strengthen the species. But the line has already been blurred.
There has been a law passed in Canada, making it illegal for scientists to play around with animal human hybrids. But n the U.S. and UK, it is okay (and funded). It is okay to do in China, too.
Animal-Human Hybrids Spark ControversyMaryann Mott

Scientists have begun blurring the line between human and animal by producing chimeras—a hybrid creature that's part human, part animal.
Chinese scientists at the Shanghai Second Medical University in 2003 successfully fused human cells with rabbit eggs. The embryos were reportedly the first human-animal chimeras successfully created. They were allowed to develop for several days in a laboratory dish before the scientists destroyed the embryos to harvest their stem cells.
After all their troubles, they destroyed the embryos? I don't believe it.
More:
In Minnesota last year researchers at the Mayo Clinic created pigs with human blood flowing through their bodies.
And at Stanford University in California an experiment might be done later this year to create mice with human brains.
Watching how human cells mature and interact in a living creature may also lead to the discoveries of new medical treatments.
But creating human-animal chimeras—named after a monster in Greek mythology that had a lion's head, goat's body, and serpent's tail—has raised troubling questions: What new subhuman combination should be produced and for what purpose? At what point would it be considered human? And what rights, if any, should it have? There are currently no U.S. federal laws that address these issues.
I guess that Glaxo would like to corner the market in human engineering. It's interesting to look at this old commercial they did for asthma medication:
Anyone remember this story?:
HUMAN MODIFICATION SPIDER GOAT SILK TO MAKE BULLETPROOF SKIN
Following the leaked news that scientists have created 15,000+ experimental animal hybrids, it has now come out that researchers are in the process of developing bulletproof human skin by using the silk of a creature with both spider and goat genes known as a spider goat. Spider goats are transgenic creations that have two key spider genes embedded into their genetic code that enable them to weave extremely strong silk. Utah State researchers are now in the process of utilizing the spider goat silk in a “bio-art” project that aims to create artificial tendons and ligaments that are completely bulletproof.
I don't think that this is earth's first time at the GM rodeo. For instance, I think this is a monument to what has gone before. (I also believe that the Sphinx was built much earlier than the pyramids. A theory that is support by several experts.
There are some researchers who claim that we were created as a slave race. I do not believe it. I think those researchers are either misleading others, or are misled themselves. We were not created as a slave race, but engineered humans were (and are being) created as such.
I've been thinking about this thread lately, and an interesting story out of China came to mind. There was a young boy there born with blue eyes, and the ability to see very well in the dark. I think it's probably just a cool genetic mutation, but I do recall the desire expressed by some to engineer humans with good night vision. I can't help but wonder if this child might be a product of genetic manipulation.
