I thought it would be fun to start a thread on metal. I want this thread to be about all of the subgenres of metal. Leave the elitism at the door.

Pretty good message in this song if you pay attention to the lyrics.

My favorite cover of this Judas Priest song.

One of my favorite metal bands.
Form is merely a momentary manifestation of being, not a fixed reality.

History doesn't repeat itself, uninformed people repeat history.

To all progressive endeavors great or small, come unforeseen benefits on a scale larger than most give pause or contemplation of.

Ok, I'm not alone in here it seems. Now I've got a place where to spam video links. All hail metal!

I miss the crown and Johan Lindstrand's style he had when he was with the crown. One man army isn't bad, but it isn't the crown.

Little Norse-themed symphonic metal.

You have the power to heal yourself... I like the esoteric side of metal. ;)

:aargh: What the fuck is wrong in todays metal bands??! These clusterfucks don't know a shit about how its supposed to be done...

I was just listening to some rather new bands, watching some gigs and stuff... And now I fucking regret I bothered.

Let's see, death metal done right is like Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Edge Of Sanity for example. Not like fucking Krisiun or some related garbage! Fuck, Krisiun is clean like a fucken hospital, it's fucking plastic! These guys dont know a shit about how death meatl should sound like! FUCK! :aargh:

Then how about black metal, its like Emperor, Mayhem, Dark Throne, Koldbrann, Satyricon... Not like some fucken crock of shit like Darkened Nocturnal Slaughtercult or those million copies of each other shit bands! Europeans don't know how to make good black metal! The dutch and french, all they do is copy what some norwegian folks did, add tempo and that equals european black vomit metal.

And thrash! Its completely dead, only bands keeping it up are Exodus, Slayer and Anthrax... And Testament. And that's it.

Modern metal is fucked unless somebody comes along with a miracle of raw sounds, some actual FEEL, if somebody would just sweep away the overproduced hyperclean fucken cubase/protools metal of today!! I would piss honey all over the place for that.

Thanks for listening. Rant over, Hexhammer signing out...

Hei... where's all the traffic, oops, I mean registered users. :hahano:

Nobody says anything? Is my post above so conclusive there's nothing to say? Or do all the other metalheads here listen to protoolsmetal? It doesn't seem to be so, considering the videos linked to this thread..

Sorry man, I forgot about this thread. I remembered it again today. "Hey... I started a metal thread." I agree with what you said above. Metal has changed. In many cases, not for the better. Some of what's accepted as metal today... it's about as bad as when the record labels in the states made the hair era bands go 'unplugged'. Acoustic guitar is fine... but for me isn't metal. I feel the same about how a lot of bands have toned down their sound to appeal to wider listening audiences. Everyone has to eat, but there comes a point where you have to choose between being about the music or the money. You can't do both. With that, I leave you with more black metal. \m/
