That's a very generous offer, Dub, would I need any technical knowhow to use them?

Yep, the one with the five leaders holding each other's hands up in the air.

I'll have a scan for some free voice processing software for you WUB. I'm sure there will be some easy to use plug-ins you can use.
Thanks, mate, I would appreciate that.

I've had a scan & posed the question to fellow sound engineers.
It seems like you'll need a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) which you can then run the plug ins through,
I thought it would be easier with some desktop tool but hey ho... There are some free DAWs available from Computer Mag, I'll try to find a source.

i had a little look for stand alone compressors too and reached the same results, you need a DAW. an easy option is to use musys which is a very good free DAW given away with computer music magazine. there is an issue with running the audio through the DAW live though in that there will be latency (a slight delay) before the compressed sound comes out of the DAW. to minimize that you need a fairly good sound card in your pc.
there's summat to be said for old skool dedicated hardware....

no wub, you won't need any tech knowledege to use the mic but they are powered tgrough the mic cable and do need a box that supplies that power. the pop shield is just a screen you place in front of the mic that stops the plosive sounds booming through the mic.

Thanks for your help, Dub. I'll give it a go this week, and I will take you up on your offer if there's no improvement.
