I really like this and, surprisingly, haven't ever heard them! I thought I had heard everything 80's! That had to be a good time seeing them in a small venue!

Romeo Void! :spliff:

What ever happened to the saxophone, anyway? Seems like they are hardly used anymore and it's such a great instrument!

Boy, did I receive parental criticism for not changing the channel when this came on. :)

Hey, I had a Romeo Void 12 inch single! like the sax too. It was used in a lot of 80s music. If I find some good sax, I will post here.
I know the Bruce Springstreen had Clarence Clemmons with his sax, but that was the seventies. I read somewhere that Bruce Springstreen had his own mkultra girlfriend whom he controlled. Don't know if it is true, but it would not surprise me too much.

Ashes to Ashes is one of my favorite Bowie songs and one of my favorite videos. I didn't realize it was so early.

Here is a David Bowie video which I never saw until today, even though I liked the song and I had 12 inch single of this too.
Loving the Alien

One of the Youtube comments says this:
According to wikipedia 'this song covers Bowie's dislike of organised religion, and is a plea for greater unity between the faiths of the world'...Imagine NO RELIGIONS said also in his (famous) song his friend John Lennon who also HATED ORGANISED RELIGIONS! I adore for that both of them now!

I always thought he was singing about himself loving the alien. So, I guess he is singing about religions and that they are loving the alien?

Have you seen the Tears for Fear "Seeds of Love" video that has a pyramid and all seeing eye? I never knew what that stuff was about back then, so it is surprising to look back and see it.

I do believe I remember that part of the Tears for Fears vid, Noseymutegirl. Going to have to check it out again. And I'm super jealous of your Romeo Void vinyl! :P

The Romeo Void vinyl that I had was "Temporary Thing" I always thought the song was about abortion - way too sad. Maybe I am wrong and the song is not about that :sulk: Talk about yer negative progamming.

I don't have any vinyl anymore - but it was a really nice collection. :band:

Tears for Fears - Seeds of Love:
I saw the official video on another forum and the comments were to the effect that Tears for Fears were illuminati tools. I can't find that "official" video online, but found this live performance and it has the pyramid and all seeing eye at 45 seconds. When you look at the words of the song, it seems more like they are talking about illuminati et al, rather than endorsing it.

Sowing the seeds of love
An end to need
And the politics of greed
With love

I could be wrong, I usually am :loco: Maybe it is really double psyop. Any thoughts? :secret:

Not really sure what to think... :conf:

I'm pretty much a novice with the whole symbolism thing, so I'm still learning. What confuses me is the "who", I guess. Illumination would seem a good thing but, yet, the "Illuminati"(whoever they are-if they are) has been branded evil. Are they evil? I'd say those in power are evil but are they "Illuminati" or some other secret group masquerading as the "Illuminati"? I mean, the symbols are everywhere and I don't believe they are being used with good intent. I think the entertainment industry is being used to "program" the masses using this symbolism- not a good thing. But I keep wondering if the "Illuminati" part is a distraction. It's hard to find reliable info, y'know?

Wiki Quote from Adam Weishaupt(founder of the original Illuminati):
"At a time, however, when there was no end of making game of and abusing secret societies, I planned to make use of this human foible for a real and worthy goal, for the benefit of people. I wished to do what the heads of the ecclesiastical and secular authorities ought to have done by virtue of their offices .."
.Weishaupt was initiated into the Masonic Lodge "Theodor zum guten Rath", at Munich in 1777. His project of "illumination, enlightening the understanding by the sun of reason, which will dispel the clouds of superstition and of prejudice" was an unwelcome reform.[18] Soon however he had developed gnostic mysteries of his own, with the goal of "perfecting human nature" through re-education to achieve a communal state with nature, freed of government and organized religion. He began working towards incorporating his system of Illuminism with that of Freemasonry.

I don't know but those things don't sound evil or pro-Big Brother to me. I haven't had time to really research it much, though, so I am pretty ignorant on the subject. I like to ask questions, though. Maybe the Illuminati has changed/was corrupted. Maybe it's a matter of the Evil Elitists sending "truth seekers" on a wild goose chase. It would be quite a threat to them if everyone became "illuminated". :dunno:

I can point out the symbolism but still find myself saying, "What does it mean?"

Well, anyway, I think I'm rambling again! LOL! :loco: Let me think on this a bit and get back to it! ;)

A bit slow paced for some people and he sucked up a bit to the land owners but still interesting from the point of view of traditions and society?
