I think its damn amazing we got the forum back... Loosing few years worth of posts, meh, not that big of a loss anyway, people will always post more anyway. I guess that'll make things more interesting when the weathers get cold. I'll be pissing you lot off all day here.   It would be nice to see some new people here too I guess, but I miss the old bunch the most. Where's Dubs?

Ok i havent looked here in a while, just saw all of the new posts here (thanks for the heads up to the person who let me know)

As you guys can see, the forum works for all intensive purposes.. the reg. process should also work now, so for those who cant get on because they forgot their old pw and dont have access to their original reg email... they can make a new account and say their bit about it, and the pw can then be reset so the old account works again.

The site contact form might not work, havent checked that yet.

Other than that, the forum can be used (obviously) and it will work.

Only (potential) issue is that the versions of kunena and joomla are now quite old, and its best to update them (eventually) for a number of reasons. I guess i can do that in time, when i have time.

Well im good with staying as a techie.. i should be able to keep the place ticking over ok, and eventually update stuff to the current versions so its less vulnerable to hackers etc.. as for getting stuck into discussions well i figure sket and others can take care of that side of it just as before. If i see spammers though i'll sort it.

Im also in a position to be able to take regular backups now so i can sort that out to hopefully prevent a mass loss of posts from occuring again.

Oh and btw ive discovered a newer backup i didnt know existed until yesterday, im going to have a go and see if its a viable one, if it restores we can start again a little closer to the present... the recent posts here well i should be able to transfer them over also before going to the newer one (if it works.. stay tuned)

ok guys were back up, and about 2 years into the future.. this other backup worked.

Some recent posts made on the old site wont be here.. ive copied some over, but it takes too much time to do them all.

I'll get the older site up again, post the link in this thread, and you guys can copy any of your recent posts and repost them here, its probably the easiest way.

Another issue might be people not being able to log in even if they could the last few days, as were further ahead now and some of your details might be different, dunno.

Ive enabled guest posting JUST for community chest so that peeps can just post here if theyve got probs getting on, post as a guest and tell us, its the easiest way.. it can be disabled once the sites back on its legs etc.

Theres alot more stuff on this site incl TPV stuff.. more members registered also and so on... if i put a mass email out to all members with this version of the site it will go to more people obviously... i'll get round to that also.

The reg process should work now, it didnt for a moment when this newer backup went up., but i just tested it now after fixing it, and it seems to work.

If any of you who made posts and/or threads on there in the last few days want to copy them to here then go for it.. i just dont have the time to copy all those recent posts.. i copied the resurrection thread and another info thread plus the time capsule thread to this newer version... thats all.

Eventually im gonna make that beta site inaccessible but for now its there so people can copy their recent posts over if they like... its just your most recent posts (since the resurrection) that exist there and not here (except the 3 mentioned threads that i copied over).

If any of you PM'd recently on the first restore they will be gone on this version also, sorry bout that, i cant do anything about that.

I've tried everything! Old passwords, new passwords, password reset but, No, to no avail. Should I just register under a new name? I'd be a bit loathe to lose my known username.... but one must be Zen and all about not becoming too attached.
