The funny thing is I was flicking through the TV channels the other night, and I got to ITV, and I saw the screen and heard a person speak for about two seconds, and I thought: "oh, I bet this is a Jon Pilger film". And it was. That should put television into perspective for you. It stood out so much even in two seconds from absolutely everything else that is ever on TV that it was just so obvious what it was. That doesn't say much for the rest of TV.

Its about the aborigine australians and more or less the same plight as when he covered it 25 years ago.
I'm keen to know novums pov but he might not have seen it yet depending on if its been released in oz as yet.

What struck me here was the same parallels with the tactic of British gov of stealing children from families under false pretences.
It breaks up the family unit which is the backbone of society, it creates a 'norm' of a situation that involves social workers doing such things which was never the case in the past while people in authority are recently shown to be such child abusers themselves.

The real reason in the case here for it all was obviously a landgrab for the mining biz thats so big in oz. Its shameful and yet scary to see how the same tactics are used elsewhere now, with the US taking up the mantle with social workers and Canada too.

The irony is that I would consider myself an anarchist yet the very values I espouse are that of traditional conservatism why do the so called conservatists of today ignore whats going on so long as the people are black/brown or just poor/immigrants?
How is it considered conservatism to push for landgrabs and breaking up society in such a brutal way, going against all the values that they are supposed to uphold? How is it conservative to allow corporations to rape the planet and its people and to sacrifice long term cultural values at the altar of globalism?
More to the point, while they obliterate these native peoples cultures they also replace our own with this globalism which is precisely why oi had so few replies when he asked on DIF what British culture actually was.
