@novum - thats where I am at as I explained earlier - I am not convinced by everything but I am not sure how helpful further discussion is as it is one of those things none of us will ever 'know' for sure - besides unless you out and out think that it didnt happen at all - the fact remains that a significant number of people died for reasons that are not related to 'war' peoples who were singled out because of their religion, ethnicity and disability.
We can argue about things - post pics, copy and paste stuff from both sides of any argument but to what end - say for example everyone on these forums said ok it never happened - then what? what is the point? what does it prove? what is the end game?
What is it that those who wish to revise the holocaust story wish to prove with such revision? what do they want to see follow from any such revelation? how would it change the everyday lives of people posting here? that would be a far more interesting and enlightening convo then rehashing the stuff seen on dif and elsewhere.
Correct.
There are few accuracies to be had in life, except your own personal experience and those you trust personally perhaps or know very well.
Other than that and we're on to 'generalisations' again and cultural dogma and myths.
True enough. I wasn't there, which is key.
But, I'm fairly sure that the experience had by me and those like me wouldn't have been a pleasant one. And yes, there was a war on, through nobody's fault on the ground, imo. There was a war because a war was needed, according to someone, somewhere high up for some purpose I know little about. Terrible, unspeakable things happen to innocent people in war, that's also a given.
Personally, I think this kind of argument deflects from the real issue, which is and always has been, why were we at war and who was really at the bottom of it? I'm not referring to a particular group of people or a race or religion. We really need to re-focus our attention on this one, as the answers are all there. This kind of argument, although entirely valid, can distract us from seeing what actually happened here and is even happening now. And doubtless, will happen again.
