I agree that folk need to be vigilant for Daisy & co sending socks in specifically for the purpose of posting shit that leaves us vulnerable to action, which of course they can then report, as the horrified, innocent, concerned, good citizens that they aren't.
@ Nov - Yep, Weeman's advised there's no non-disclosure contract in place currently, but there was a few years back. You're right that some of us deemed them to have been automatically nullified in view of Sean's unscrupulous activities, and made ourselves busy disclosing like billio!
@ Electric - Sean lied to you (quelle surprise) if he told you there were costs connected to PMing capacity. When I joined, there were no restrictions apart from the number of messages you could hold in your PM box. He introduced them because someone spammed a load of PM's at one go, trying to sell something (don't recall what, exactly) to t'other members.
It's obviously easier to monitor & control when there are limits - and that's even without any actual PM spying. Bear in mind that mods (can't remember whether or not the same applies to all members) can see what people are doing, as in, reading a particular thread, composing a post, reading or writing a PM -
they can't see the content of them, but can see who it's from / to; eg's. 'Oioioi is reading a PM from Dubmeup', or 'Novum is creating a new thread in the Perverts section' etc.
So they can contain mass private contact now, but if they spotted someone issuing a PM to a bunch of people at once, it would still raise suspicion as to what they're up to.
Also, at Wilderbeest's (I_Am) request, he removed the PM facility from newbies until they'd made a certain number of posts, giving her the opportunity to scrutinise people first & decide whether to hobble them at the get-go.
