I often have a battle with my daughter when this topic comes up during homework or projects .
The project, for example, will always presents Climate change as a given fact and never invites discussion to the contrary. As far as the education curriculum is concerned Climate change an is absolute fact....a done deal. How many absolutes do you know of?

Christopher Booker.
Not often does a senior Cabinet minister declare that a policy long pursued by his own department is “against the law”. But that was the response of Michael Gove, the Education Secretary, to a report exposing just how profoundly our education system has been hijacked by promoters of the official group-think on global warming.
Expanding on a theme touched on here more than once over the years, the report for the Global Warming Policy Foundation by Andrew Montford and John Shade shows how generations of schoolchildren have been taught to accept as gospel nothing but a propagandist, Greenpeace-type view of the global-warming scare, so one-sided that it makes a mockery of the requirement under the 1996 Education Act that pupils only be taught in a balanced way, allowing them to form their own view of the evidence. more at the link...
Over the past two years, more than 100 schools in North East England have signed up to the Climate Change Schools Project. Led by Dr Krista McKinzey, the project works to put climate change at the heart of the national curriculum and make participating schools ‘beacons' of positive action in their communities.
The Climate Change Schools Project is a programme aiming to put climate change at the heart of the national curriculum and has established a pioneering network of Climate Change Lead Schools. Over 100 schools have successfully developed their own unique pathways to embed climate change throughout the curriculum and use this as a catalyst for showcasing schools and young people as ‘everyday experts' in their local communities on climate change, with the ongoing direction and support of the Climate Change Schools Project.
The project provides direct and committed support for schools, helping teachers and pupils to understand the impacts of human activity on the planet, and educating and inspiring them to make a difference now and in the future.
The schools are also achieving behavioural change within communities and raising 'adaptive capacity' at a local level, enhancing the ability of communities to respond to the challenges climate change is likely to present.
You get all these insane people going into schools now with titles like 'Sustainability Coordinator'. I've seen examples in other areas and on TV as well; children are absolutely being trained that they need to accept doing without, which is what 'austerity' is all about, of course. At the same time, there is a fascist and completely undemocratic transfer of economic power from State to banks and corporations, combined with the removal of checks and balances and the retention, or even extension, by the State of its ability to dictate to people and collect ever increasing taxes that just go into a black hole and achieve nothing. When I see the sort of future that groups such as Forum for the Future imagine then it's not a particularly attractive one for me.

If you go to the front page of SZ, it is actually at the bottom of the page, and there is an interview with me waffling on about a few things. I didn't notice this for quite some time, though, so I'm not that surprised that you haven't! I don’t generally promote it because I haven’t sold if for a while because I had signed a publishing contract, and then the publisher let me down. Not that I wanted or expected to make any money out of it, it was just a minor ambition to have a book published, but it was a bit disappointing to get so close and then be denied, and to be spun the usual bullshit and once again see that human-beings pretty much always let you down. Not as bad an experience as some people have where their book gets sold and they lose distribution rights, though! I've posted this video a couple of times of John Healy, with whom I greatly sympathise, but this is what can happen, this guy's written an absolute classic, one of the most moving books you will ever read, and he's living on benefit, totally blackballed by the publishing industry:
It is frustrating to see really bad books being published all the time, as well as pseudo-intellectual nonsense written by bouregois idiots who were born with a silver spoon up their arse and can't see the woods for the tress, but there's not much you can do about it!
I’ve sold quite a few copies through Amazon and also through the blog, and various people from forums have bought a copy, but I took it off Amazon because I want to retain the copyright. Theoretically they could claim that they have copyright, but they wouldn’t bother for such an insignificant tome, they might if it was one of the ‘Hunger Games’ books! I’ve used some of the content to assist in writing many articles that have been published and I’ve been paid for, and I learnt a lot from writing it, so the time invested wasn’t wasted.
I had begun to write a book about the BBC. I’d written the first part and had it all planned out, and I know I could have done something really good, but I just can’t justify putting the time and effort into something good enough that I’d want to put my name to – and I am a perfectionist – given that it’s always tough to find a publisher for anything, let alone anything ‘controversial’ . It’s difficult for me to invest the time in that when people will pay me to write, which is after all what makes the world go round in the existing system, so I shelved that. But I’ve read all of the books on the BBC available through Amazon, and most of them are shit, the only one that’s half decent in Peter Sissons’ book, I know I could have done something far better than anything out there, but there you go, that’s life. I don't have a job, workplace or boss, so I can't complain!

Thats really interesting wub - It's nice to find talent lurking on the forum.
I'm listening to your guest spot on Kieron's show - He used to post on DIF didn't he? I take it he isn't on forums any more.
You come across well on radio - have you had any other guest slots? Would you consider doing more?

Thanks, I had managed to desensitise myself to listening to myself talk, but I'm sure by now I would despise it again!
I'm on roughly the last half an hour of this one too:
I would be willing to do any interviews really, it was actually part of the contract I signed to be willing to take steps to promote the book, etc, even though I much prefer writing to talking. But I stopped doing all that because it was never going to get printed, and also I feel that you're swimming against the tide a bit anyway. I'm happy to talk to anyone on any subject, at any time, and I will never sugarcoat my views or duck difficult questions, but I just find that most people don't give a toss one way or another. Most people are happy just playing their little part in the consumerist culture, no matter what the consequences are, until something happens that they don't like, at which point they complain about it and usually expect the government to fix it. A huge amount of social engineering has gone on over a long period of time, without doubt, but the bottom line is you can’t get everyday people to adopt a reasonable or sensible perspective on most issues because they’re fundamentally ignorant. It’s not necessarily entirely their fault that they’re ignorant, but it doesn’t change the basic reality. I try to converse with my own family and it is a futile process because they don’t have the basic foundation of knowledge required to participate in the discussion.
I’m not sure what Keelan is up to, I haven’t spoken to him for a while, but I hope he’s doing well, he’s a smart lad.

Your video interview on the front page doesn't exist,
It's in the links in the previous post, but it's also here:
