G'day Gilly.

So long as your Jack Russel's are cool there won't be a problem. Pugs are very cool with other dogs from my experience. They're great with kids as well, very patient and will put up with a lot without snapping. Usually they'll simply walk away.

Pug antics are fun though. :D Having another dog, I'd choose a pug, though probably not purebred. The one I lived with down in Port Macquarie was Pug x Silkie, and she had a longer snout, which meant she didn't have any breathing problems. You can see that in this pic ...

She looks ace. Yes, the breathing thing is something that might deter me from buying one. Some of the cross-breeds are brilliant, as they combine the best characteristics of the parent breeds.

Pugs are expensive over here btw.

I'll need to Google silkies as I'm not familiar with them.

My jacks are nice natured and well socialised, so I'm hoping they'll be fine.

G'day Gilly.

Apart from the nose, you would be hard pressed to recognise Diva as anything but a Pug. Same build as a Pug, does the head tilt, the 'pug run' (and she can be more full on with it than in some of the vid's already posted about it), along with the temperament etc. She's a one in a million dog.

That silkie looks just like a Yorkshire terrier - which one of mine is crossed with. :)

Did you know that not only are Pugs cute and intelligent, but they are also accomplished and respected actors and singers?

G'day Coco.

:D When I'd go out with Diva (she used to go almost everywhere with me) I'd hear comments about her looking like the Pug in MIB ... not true, Diva is way cuter.

Pugs are very intelligent. I'd trained Diva to open the screen door to go outside and come back in (there was no latch on the screen door). If she needed to go outside at night during winter (summer the back door was always open so she could go in and out on her own), she'd lick my face to wake me up so I could get up and let her out.

We spent a lot of time together, almost 24/7, for 8 years. Diva was / is my mate.

Aww, you're a good Pug daddy. :)

Certain breeds will always have a 'standard' appearance, but they all have unique features that only parents can identify.

Biggs is my first dog since high school and I didn't want him as he dug up his previous owner's yard and barked almost incessantly. After we adopted him he dug and barked no more; Turns out, he's a high maintenance dog - he required a lot of attention. :)

He's twelve years old now and I know I must prepare myself as his arthritic hip gets worse. After him, I will return to not having any doggies as I will have to help care my my mother's dogs.

My ex wanted Biggs so badly he begged me for a month to get him, I relented knowing who would actually care for him. I don't mind at all; He's like a son to me. I estimate next year to be a hard year, maybe 2013, as........he's not going to suffer.

When I parted company with my ex I knew I couldn't leave Biggs behind as I knew he wouldn't receive proper care.

Now, he's spoiled more rotten by my parents than I ever spoiled him! He's their grand-dog.

How does it go? The more I live, the more I like animals - or some such to that effect.

Pugs look so huggable. I like a huggable doggeh. :)

Here's a Yorkshire terrier - bred to catch rats, and be a lap dog.

Yorkshire Terrier 0024

I have to admit, I like virtually all dog breeds and mongrels too. They're like people though - you can get a good character or a bad one.

When I win the lottery, I shall run a boarding kennel. It's about the only job I believe I'd really enjoy.

It's too cute - and the doggie reminds me of Batou.
