Roll up Roll up Roll up!

Who is gonna be the next pope?

The rules are simple-
1 Pick two entrants in the pope competition which ends on Tue 12 Mar 3:45PM.
2 You are allowed to pick the same entrants as other forum members.

I haven't found a a list of them yet other than this - www.charismanews.com/world/38581-specula...al-new-popes-emerges

I am choosing Christoph Schonborn an Austrian aged 68 and former student of Pope Benedict and Sean O'Malley from USA who has been touted as a "clean hands" candidate since he was named to three U.S. dioceses in a row to settle sexual abuse scandals.

Good luck :D

Did you know that anyone can be nominated for the gig, not just cardinals or bishops?
The usual restrictions apply though, no women and you must be a carflick. Muzzies, atheists and teh J00s need not apply.

Company car, uniform and protective footwear are supplied.

That would be amazing and gets my vote no problem.

I'm already suspicious of his absence during conclave. :umm:

This will be the 5th pope, I think, in my lifetime. Will anything change? All I have ever known is that with each pope, things have got worse....or maybe more accurately evil has been revealed.
Sorry to be a spoil sport, but it wont make any difference who gets in.
That Mahonney cardinal (US) who was 'done' for pedophilia etc is over there voting!
I vote for getting rid of religion.

Gianfranco Ravasi also seems likely but I'm cheating having 3 choices there now lol.

Tagle would obviously be the best choice the church can make, doubt it will though.

Three choices is ok andyh.

I forgot to say management reserve the right to change the rules at anytime :chuckle:

I just can't edit the first post for some reason.

My third choice is a wild card Bechara Boutros al-Rahi.

I like the name.

My choice is Joao Braz de Aviz based purely on his cuddly granda-type face and the fact he's smiling with his eyes. :P

If the Catholic church really want to engage with people then the 3 or 4 likeliest candidates should have a televised dance-off to decide who gets the gig.
