You can put tinfoil in the oven for three hours rosting a ham or chicken and it can be held in your hands straight away

If you fancy shoplifting allegedly it stops th alarms from going off

And if your in the conspiracy community and need a hat tinfoil is the go to material

Why?

It certainly would have appeared so to our ancestors. But then...that which is not understood by us presently might also be viewed as 'magical'.
What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow: Our life is the creation of our mind.

Foil has a low specific heat capacity which means it Takes little energy to warm up to oven temp and when you touch it there is little heat energy transferred to you. Think of a block of metal heated to 500 degrees , it will burn. Compare to a spark when cutting metal.. White hot, 3000 degrees but you should be showered by them for a short time with no injury. That's because they contain very little heat energy.
In conclusion.. Transfer of Thermal energy is what burns and foil has very little.

Violence is not the answer, it is the question. the answer is yes.

I burn things off cars regularly (exhausts, suspension parts etc) and when you get a shower of slag down the neck of your ovies , you certainly know about it :aargh:

The only way to find out if it is actually magic or not, is to jam an abundance of it in the microwave and leave the microwave on for about 10 minutes.
But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma,
a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

I'll not tell you about the day I spent sharpening all my sons crayons into a Chinese dish then put all the shavings in the oven thinking I could melt them and mold them into a huge multicolored crayon

I broke my oven and my kitchen that day ....my mixture went on fire

It was fun explaining it to the house insurance people they accepted it was accidental damage :D
