theres an old jewish guy i asked him hey why cant you eat pigs? arent you sad about bacon? and he said its more of a strict religious rule, carried over from old times. he eats bacon and he loves it. now with food safety etc. its almost no risks of getting sick from it. then we had a bacon sandwich. so my understanding is, just strict religious people observe it even though the rule was health based not religious.

I can barely understand choosing one animal as being the one not to eat, but I'm an all or nowt kinda guy.

I'm coming to the conculsion that nobobdy actually knows 'why' it is forbidden and frowned upon.

I did wonder for a while if it was about food poisioning historically, but wouldn't that be true off all meat (except beef which can be eaten raw)

I also wondered if it was we couldn't digest it probably but that has been shown to be untrue.

I eat pork, it's one of my favourites but I have always wondered why a large population of the world wouldn't touch it

Anyways, to answer your question re pork, it is supposed to be 'unclean' for some reason.

Lisa Simpson told Homer that ham, pork chops, bacon etc all came from the same animal.

I've not watched Seinfeld , but why are pigs unclean?

I have a sister in law who is registered blind and has a guide dog , and she has been refused entry into a couple of shops/restaurants because they have said dogs are unclean (religion based)

How can a pig or dog be classified as 'unclean' ,.......what did/do they do that makes them feared ? There are just animals
