I got it free though after my mum bought my school shoes from Clarkes. Does it still count?

Well oi... you now owe me an hour of life that I've just spent looking for the cover of an album I can no longer remember the name of!

Can't find it so this was the second one I ever bought.

The first of this series... :gleek:

Abba for kids, first ever record?! Holy Hell that's satanic! My first ever cd was Megadeth's Youthanasia, got it as a birthday present from my ma. Jeez, that was in 1994.. Tempus fugit.

Anyway, this is a cool thread, nice to read.. I don't have any kids yet, hehe, I already know what I will get for them to listen. Slayers Reign In Blood is high on the list.

First single I ever bought myself - cost me 50p which was my entire pocket money - first comic relief song and annoyed the fuck out of my parents who could not stand the young ones or cliff richards. I was nine and thought it was one of the funniest things ever!!

And I wasn't asking what you bought for the kids, that refers to the fact that some people(young ones!) have only ever bought CDs!

The first single I ever bought was "Here comes the night", by Them. (Van Morrison was lead-singer) Way back in 1965?

Kinell, I was only 8 then.

I may be ancient in some of your eyes, but come on, this wasn't too bad a choice for an 8yr old in those days.

Everyone else was wanking off over Cliff, and the bloody beatles.

Forget yesterday. It has already forgotten you.

I never bought singles as a kid - just albums. My 1st 2 were the 'bloody Bealtles' - Revolver :chuckle: and Smokie's Greatest Hits.
