Apparently, I didn't, until the doctor punched me in the arse. Although I rather enjoy this now, it must have come as something of a shock to me at the time.

I wondered if anyone has any 'theories' about those who cry and those who don't?

Do ceasarian deliveries cry, too?

I didnt. I was a blue baby born with the cord around my neck - there is a study linking blue babies and depression in later life dunno about non crying though.
Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.

I can't remember - boom boom!
My mum probably can't either. I can't actually remember whether my son cried immediately after birth. I think I was in shock.

My mom doesn't remember, she "assumes" I squealed.

My son who was born just in the other room didn't cry or squeal or any of it (til the midwife weighed him, he wasn't happy about that).
I came into this world kicking and screaming while covered in someone elses blood
and I have no problem with going out the same way

I am told that I was born sucking my thumb so I would guess not. I don`t think either of my kids were crying when they were born but maybe I am not the best person to ask as I was on the verge of passing out both times.

I never cried when i was born. My mum said she thought i was dead im a twin and my twin cried straight away. My mum said i was not even moving just a lump then must of woke up and started crying. Or maybe i was dead and a evil entity is running my body now. :emb:

I've no idea whether I cried, but neither of my children did. In fact my daughter first made direct eye contact with my husband the instant her head came out, and she looked at him in a cool, analytical way. She then popped all the way out and came straight to me for a snuggle.

My son just looked around and was quiet.
