Yaye - I've loads of bookmarks too, but can never locate one when needed so often utilise a joker out of a deck of cards.My favourite's one of those 3d ones wit loads of big ladybirds on. I keep meaning to embroider one.

Any photo's will have to wait till my daughter's home so that she can show this elderly imbecile how to get pictures from camera on to lap-top etc. It's bliss though - a brass leprachaun here, a carved agate elephant there!

60's & 70's stuff are very desirable at the minute.

My sister just passed on a big 70's G-Plan teak dining table to me that she was offered free-gratis, so I got 8 matching chairs off t'internet (they're constructed to last forever) & am fancying a matching desk. Maybe a starburst clock to go over it & an anglepoise lamp. I would have gone for a psychadelic table-cloth, but th'usband doesn't like.

Great to see so many kindred nick-nack collectors here! As some of you may know, I'm an avid china thimble collector and have literally hundreds of the things! In our living room alone there are 22 thimble multi-holders of varying sizes! I used to collect Wade Whimsies as a child (the little animal figurines) - although most of those are still at my parent's house. Also in the living room by way of nick-nacks we have (amongst other things): several cat figurines, my christening cup, a Dresden shepherdess, a set of Russian dolls, a set of ceramic guinea-fowl from Zimbabwe, a set of 3 Wade tortoises and a Hummel figurine I inherited from my step-grandma!

It has to be said that the vast majority of these what-nots are mine - my OH just graciously puts up with them! "Love me, love my what-nots!"

This fellow I knew owned a classic record shop,and had every single or album you could think of,plus a warehouse to store more,he basically told me that the whole market for old records has changed,collectors and fans that used to buy the most bought music pre 1950's and paid well for them,but this has changed because of the aging of this group people and collector value.

Now the most popular and expensive records are 1950 old classic country,old 1950's rockabilly and soul,and 1960's pop music,like the Beatles,or the monkeys type music,and there is a world wide market.

A particular album may bring as much as 600.00 dollars US currency or more for a rare find in mint condition.

Um... my mom collected a few things (Breyer Horse's, figurines from time to time). I started with the Breyer thing too, and fairies, dragons, etc... Still have a few, but for the most part we (mom and I) have boxed a lot of it up and are trying to sell it.
