Ketamine party drug , and used as a horse Tranquiliser , this what wikibullshit says
Ketamine is a drug used in human and veterinary medicine. Its hydrochloride salt is sold as Ketanest, Ketaset, and Ketalar. Pharmacologically, ketamine is classified as an NMDA receptor antagonist.[2] At high, fully anesthetic level doses, ketamine has also been found to bind to opioid μ receptors type 2 in cultured human neuroblastoma cells – however, without agonist activity[3] – and to sigma receptors in rats.[4] Also, ketamine interacts with muscarinic receptors, descending monoaminergic pain pathways and voltage-gated calcium channels.[5] Like other drugs of this class such as tiletamine and phencyclidine (PCP), it induces a state referred to as "dissociative anesthesia"[6] and is used as a recreational drug.

But here its not used for that.......irs used as a Psychriatric Drug...

I always heard it was a horse tranquillizer, never heard about it being used in psychiatric patients... alas, never tried it as a recreational drug either (although I have heard things about it).
Heading out the door, will be coming back to watch the video in a few hours...thanks for posting.

Thats one hell of a drug :O

How they could find a use for it in psychiatry is beyond me when there is more to to mental disorder's than just bombing someone out of their brains.

There are institutes where they look into everything effecting an individual, everything you can think of they look at it yet unfortunately it's not the norm as the basic Psych Doc just accepts Big Pharma's drug's on face value and distribute them like a dealer would.

It's a pretty weird but interesting substance. Have too much of it and you'll regret it.
Have just the right amount and it feels like some form of levitation - great for raves etc
It left me feeling tranquilised but awake for over a day once though - didn't bother with it again.
Various 'street' drugs have been tested for use on psychiatric patients or even just general stuff like alcoholism with varying degree of success.

I've heard, diving into a K-hole is the only way to go

In cosy surroundings, cushions & bean bags, chilled dubstep on the stereo & a few cool comfy mates to hang with only

That's what I've heard anyway :scotty:

Sounds like pretty powerful stuff SB.

It's a major problem when powerful drugs like Special K is taken without any medical supervision, :O and over a long time it's more than likely to change the chemical make up of your brain, which ain't a good thing at all.

There are big Pharma drugs which are very useful and will help people but it seems like it's a hit an miss affair with a lot of them.

What I do find weird is the people who get themselves into a K-hole in a nightclub, of all places. It has to be one of the least clubby drugs possible.

Oh, and it's called "regretamine" for a reason. :chuckle:

I would add that I had a good friend (now deceased) who got into ketamine in the late 90s, before it became more widely used as a recreational drug.

He would talk about how he would often visit an "angel" on another plane of existence while taking ket. His descriptions of his journeys sounded to me exactly like people's descriptions of out of the body experiences. In fact, these "dissociative" experiences are quite common on certain dosages of ket.

Having these type of experiences are great if they're done with a clear head, but I think it's really dangerous to do it when on drugs leaves yourself open to all kinds of things in the astral world.

Sorry about your friend,

(I've heard) The journey you go on is 'digital' and takes you (preferably with the right kind of music) through vortexes, totally free of your bodily self, you find your mind on it's own (or your soul?). You then go with the flow & see where you end up. After about 40mins you come back again,

I would certainly NOT recommend getting to like being a kettlehead too much. The odd k-hole is like meditation to some people however.

Yeah it's cool for just kickin back to some tunes when everyone is on a level. I've taken it further than necessary in the past and just ended up regretting it. Plus after my first experience on it when me & the mrs got spiked I thought we were both gonna snuff it. She collapsed in Tesco etc...puking by the trolleys... total nightmare.

It seems to me that many of the ones 'banned' are the ones that can actually be of the most use.
Acid & Ecstasy seem have some basis in being able to abate alcohol addiction, and in the latter parkinsons disease.. probably a whole manner of other things...
Obviously weed, which I've seen cure acute salmonella to personal sciatica... & I very rarely get ill.
Stuff like coke & opiates & ket are just high grade pharma stuff that actually works for pain relief etc. They're reluctant to give the best stuff out unless it's a pretty bad case these days. For example they won't give out diazipan so freely now.
/tranqs are really addictive if you just want to escape everything... not a good path. Just like all drugs, they meddle with your head, sometimes good & bad - but being responsible is the most important thing, though obviously unfortunately it does happen to some people that they can't leave that escapism.
I'm glad I've knocked all that on the head now,- as good as it was it left me feeling like shite too often, creeping age combined with burning myself out too young,
I stick to a drink & smoke now, though I can take or leave either. Don't regret any of it. All just experiences....

There's so little point in that. It defeats part of the object of a rave imo. I've come across people like that but thought they'd be better off semi-watching Spiritualised.

I've had similar experiences with E & smoking infinite bongs. Several times, me & my mate would open our eyes at the same time & we were both having visions of looking down on ourselves from a different vantage point in the room.after hours. It was extremely relaxing, until coming around and wondering what the fuck that was about.

100% agreed.
If I hadn't had various drug experiences.. hundreds of good and a few bad... I'd be different... Maybe a bit of a square,,, :O
It certainly gives more of an insight into everything, most importantly yourself. Not that I advocate taking drugs.
Stuff like coke seems to bring out the opposite - an almost corporate drug - ready to shaft each other over with meaningless forgetful earache of the next deal. Drafted to the lower classes & it's cut with all sorts of chemical cancer bringing wank.
One thing I do know about 'the chain' is it's passed from one very high gang to the next - we're talking about guys in suits who are totally above the law, & they occasionally sell off some of the lower lever collateral damage dealers as bait for the media - at the same time providing a much needed security blanket operated by the very same system.
