Have to give a big thanks to IAAIA for his wonderful contributions. I honestly had no idea how helpful it was, the information he provided was really eye opening!

Music wise... if you haven't already, in your research... should try listening to these tunes while researching it, depending on mood during the event, although I find music seems to set the mood for study itself, as the songs change, the mood changes with it...

If you're feeling a bit like a trouble maker...
Rolling Stoned & Save Yourself, My Darkest Days
Up All Night & Wakin' Up The Devil, Hinder
Bottoms Up, Nickelback

If you're feeling more mellow, and want to stay that way...
Blue Jeans, Lana Del Rey
Lake of Fire, Nirvana
Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, Trevor Rabin
Wicked Game, Chris Isaak
Sail, Awolnation

More in a mood to be naughty, give these a try...
Change, Deftones
Tonight (I'm Fucking You), Enrique Iglesias Ft. Ludacris (don't hit me! :hide:)
Casual Sex, My Darkest Days
Everything I Wanna Do & Gotta Get Me Some, Nickelback
Closer & The Hand That Feeds, Nine Inch Nails

Okay, anyone else got any suggestion or information to add? I have dun run out (although I am sure I will come up with something else to add at a later time or date).

Batou, just go with the assumption that we consider all people "being stupid" until proven otherwise :chuckle:

And I also assume, you get your county gold for no other purpose other than research and study :D (its legal here now, but I ain't got a medical card for it, so it's purely for research reasons, of course, if I should have any, at any moment in time (past, present, or future :umm: )) I assume it's the same where you're at ;)

Yes it was actually... but I know quite a few people who look at you kinda funny when you mention it... and the only reason I know it's the F-word instead of Love is because while listening to it and watching the music video, I couldn't put together in my mind how "love" fit in with what was going on so I started searching. Found the uncensored version on a non-US site, as if American's can't handle the truth of it.

G'day StarsChildren.

You are welcome.

Here are a couple of forums that are worthwhile perusing ...

A lot of the information was sourced from the above two cannabis forum links I posted. There's some SERIOUS growers out there that have freely shared their experiences and expertise ... BIG thanks goes out to them.

I looked into where to buy seeds and would probably look to get these strains if I had a place to grow ...

While watching the documentary, Sex, Drugs & Democracy (circa 2010) ...

Part 1

... I heard a piece of information that I thought I'd have a look into. The comment was about the reason why cannabis is decriminalised and not completely legalised. Apparently it is because of the United Nations International Narcotics Control Board.
International Narcotics Control Board

Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, 1961

The adoption of this Convention is regarded as a milestone in the history of international drug control. The Single Convention codified all existing multilateral treaties on drug control and extended the existing control systems to include the cultivation of plants that were grown as the raw material of narcotic drugs. The principal objectives of the Convention are to limit the possession, use, trade in, distribution, import, export, manufacture and production of drugs exclusively to medical and scientific purposes and to address drug trafficking through international cooperation to deter and discourage drug traffickers. The Convention also established the International Narcotics Control Board, merging the Permanent Central Board and the Drug Supervisory Board.

There is a pdf document of the convention ... www.incb.org/pdf/e/conv/convention_1961_en.pdf

International Narcotics Control Board

The International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) is the independent and quasi-judicial control organ for the implementation of the United Nations drug conventions. It plays an important role in monitoring enforcement of restrictions on narcotics and psychotropics and in deciding which precursors should be regulated.

History

The Board had predecessors since the time of under the League of Nations. It all started in 1909 in Shanghai with the International Opium Commission, the first international drug control conference. The International Opium Convention of 1925 established the Permanent Central Board (first known as the Permanent Central Opium Board and then as the Permanent Central Narcotics Board).[1] That Board started its work in 1929. After the dissolution of the League, the 1946 Protocol Amending the Agreements, Conventions and Protocols on Narcotic Drugs concluded at The Hague on 23 January 1912, at Geneva on 11 February 1925 and 19 February 1925, and 13 July 1931, at Bangkok on 27 November 1931 and at Geneva on 26 June 1936, created a Supervisory Body to administer the estimate system. The functions of both bodies were merged into the Board by the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs. The composition of the Board under the Single Convention was strongly influenced by the 1946 treaty.

Responsibilities

Article 9 of the Single Convention provides that the Board shall endeavour to:

* Limit the cultivation, production, manufacture and use of drugs to an adequate amount required for medical and scientific purposes;
* Ensure their availability for such purposes; and
* Prevent illicit cultivation, production and manufacture of, and illicit trafficking in and use of, drugs.

Thus, the Single Convention seeks to allow medical and scientific use of psychoactive drugs while preventing recreational use. Accordingly, Article 12 gives the Board the responsibility of allocating quotas among Parties concerning licit cultivation, production, manufacture, export, import, distribution and trade in an attempt to prevent leakage of drugs from licit sources into the illicit traffic. The Board establishes estimates for all nations, including non-Parties to the Single Convention.

Article 18 of the Convention on Psychotropic Substances requires the Board to issue annual reports on its work.

Article 12 of the United Nations Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances requires the Board to report annually to the Commission on the implementation of the Convention's restrictions on chemicals in Table I and Table II, the treaty's two categories of precursor substances in illicit drug manufacture. In the case of a precursor substance not yet regulated, the Convention also requires the Board to communicate to the Commission on Narcotic Drugs an assessment of the substance if it finds that:

* The substance is frequently used in the illicit manufacture of a narcotic drug or psychotropic substance; and
* The volume and extent of the illicit manufacture of a narcotic drug or psychotropic substance creates serious public health or social problems, so as to warrant international action.

The Convention requires the Board to notify the United Nations Secretary-General whenever it has information which, in its opinion, may justify adding a substance to, deleting a substance from, or transferring a substance between, the Tables. The Secretary-General then transmits that information to the Parties and the Commission, and the Commission makes the decision, "taking into account the comments submitted by the Parties and the comments and recommendations of the Board, whose assessment shall be determinative as to scientific matters, and also taking into due consideration any other relevant factors".

Enforcement powers

Article 14 of the Single Convention, Article 19 of the Convention on Psychotropic Drugs, and Article 22 of the Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances give the Board the authority to investigate the failure of any country or region to carry out the Convention's provisions. This includes countries that are not Parties to the Conventions. The Board can ask for explanations from the Government in question, propose that a study of the matter be carried out in its territory, and call upon the Government to adopt remedial measures.

If the Board finds that the Government has failed to give satisfactory explanations, or has failed to adopt remedial measures that it has been called upon to take, the Board can call the attention of the Parties, the Council, and the Commission to the matter. The Board can also publish a report on the matter for communication to all Parties. Under some circumstances, it can penalize a violator by reducing its export quota of opium, under the provisions of Article 21 bis.[2] The Board can even "recommend to the Parties that they stop the export, import, or both, of particular psychotropic substances, from or to the country or region concerned, either for a designated period or until the Board shall be satisfied as to the situation in that country or region." The Commentary to the Convention on Narcotic Drugs points out, "This is a very serious measure, and it cannot be assumed that the Board has that authority except in very grave situations".[3] Decisions under Article 19 require a two-thirds vote of the Board.

The Commentary to the Convention on Psychotropic Substances notes, "Since the Board is not in continuous session and in fact meets only a few weeks each year, it has to delegate to its secretariat the required authority in order to maintain between its sessions 'the mechanism for a continuing dialogue' with Governments".[4]

Membership

Article 9 of the Single Convention specifies that the Board shall be made up of thirteen members elected by the UN Economic and Social Council, including:

* Three members with medical, pharmacological or pharmaceutical experience from a list of at least five persons nominated by the World Health Organization; and
* Ten members from a list of persons nominated by the Members of the United Nations and by Parties which are not Members of the United Nations.

The Article requires the Council to make arrangements to ensure the Board's independence. Article 10 specifies that "[t]he members of the Board shall serve for a period of five years, and may be re-elected." The lengthy terms, and the fact that the Board is made up of individuals rather than nation-states, help buffer the Board from political pressure. The requirement that members with "medical, pharmacological or pharmaceutical experience" be placed on the Board was the result of lobbying by the pharmaceuticals industry. The provision that three members would be WHO nominees is similar to the 1946 treaty's provision that two of the four members of the Supervisory Body would be appointed by the WHO. The requirement that nominees be appointed by ECOSOC is similar to the 1946 treaty's provision that one of the four members of the Supervisory Body be appointed by ECOSOC's Commission on Narcotic Drugs.

Controversy

The Board routinely draws the attention of the international community to interesting drug control developments. On the United Kingdom, the report of the Board for 2002 noted “ the announcement by the Government of the United Kingdom that cannabis would be placed in a different schedule, requiring less severe controls, and the worldwide repercussions caused by that announcement, including confusion and widespread misunderstanding. A survey undertaken in the United Kingdom found that as many as 94 per cent of children believed that cannabis was a legal substance or even some type of medicine. The survey also discovered that nearly 80 per cent of teachers in the United Kingdom believed that the recent reclassification of cannabis would make educating pupils about the dangers of drug abuse more challenging and difficult. Several opinion polls taken in July and August 2002 found that the majority of the population did not support that reclassification.” (Paragraph 499, [1]) Parliamentary Under Secretary of State Bob Ainsworth responded[5]:

The comments made in your report, your selective and inaccurate use of statistics, and failure to refer to the scientific basis on which the UK Government's decision was based all add up to an ill-informed and potentially damaging message. This was compounded by the way in which the Board presented the cannabis reclassification decision to the media at the launch of its annual report on 26 February. For example, the Board representative is quoted as having said that we might end up in the next 10 or 20 years with our psychiatric hospitals filled with people who have problems with cannabis, and that a recent study by the British Lung Foundation found smoking three cannabis joints caused the same damage to the linings of the airways as 20 cigarettes. These are totally misleading statements.

In 2008, the Home Secretary of the United Kingdom recommended that cannabis be reclassified as a class B drug. [2]

In April 2003, former United Nations Drug Control Programme Chief of Demand Reduction Cindy Fazey penned a scathing review of the Board, accusing it of overstepping its bounds[6]:

Unfortunately these individuals also see their role not only as the guardians of the conventions, but also the interpreters of them as well. In their annual report they have criticised many governments, such as Canada for permitting the medicinal use of cannabis, Australia for providing injecting rooms and the United Kingdom for proposing to downgrade the classification of cannabis, which would entail less serious penalties than at present. These criticisms go far beyond their remit, and indeed it is hubris to criticise the Canadian Supreme Court.

In the wake of the United States Supreme Court's decision in Gonzales v. Raich, the Board welcomed "the decision of the United States Supreme Court, made on 6 June, reaffirming that the cultivation and use of cannabis, even if it is for 'medical' use, should be prohibited." The Board's President, Hamid Ghodse, opined[7]:

INCB has for many years pointed out that the evidence that cannabis might be useful as a medicine is insufficient. Countries should not authorise the use of cannabis as a medicine until conclusive results based on research are available. Sound scientific evidence for its safety, efficacy and usefulness is required to justify its use in medical practice. Any research into cannabis as a medicine should involve the World Health Organization, as the responsible international health agency.

The Senlis Council has argued in March 2006 that the INCB is not taking seriously its responsibility vis-à-vis the global needs for medicines:[8]

The INCB is responsible for ensuring adequate supplies of drugs for medical use. Currently millions of people are suffering due to a mounting global shortage of opium-based painkillers such as morphine and codeine, especially in the developing world. The methods used by the INCB to calculate the amounts needed of these medicines are flawed and need to be reconsidered.

The INCB has published several special reports on the availability of opiates for medical needs, going back to 1989 and 1995 [3] and has repeatedly called for urgent global action to address the situation [4].

In its most recent report, noting that millions of people around the world are suffering from acute and chronic pain, the INCB calls on Governments to support a new programme of the World Health Organization (WHO), which aims at improving access to those medicines. [5]

Criticisms

There is widespread criticism over the existence of International Narcotics Control Board and its "requirements" for nations to comply with their drug laws. It is often thought that the UN is overstepping its role as an international organization and trying instead to act more like an international government. Critics often point out that UN is eroding the sovereignty of states to choose whether or not they will criminalize drugs. Those against the war on drugs and drug prohibition in general often blame UN's involvement with regulating drugs as a strong reason why there is worldwide prohibition.

In the Netherlands, for example, soft drugs like cannabis and psilocybin mushrooms are widely available and tolerated but not officially legal because the Dutch government wants to adhere to international treaties. Full legalization of soft drugs will likely result in widespread criticism from the international community because of not adhering to the International Narcotics Board's policy on certain drugs.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Narcotics_Control_Board

In other words, because countries are part of an international treaty, they WILL NOT legalise cannabis as they would be in contravention of said international treaty.

Obviously the United Nations don't want anyone cutting in on their finances gained from the illegal drug trade and have put in place a treaty to guarantee this, which includes controlling countries that are not even a part of the treaty.

Little Dwarf Autoflower

:spliff: Yep thats the one...cheers.

Little Dwarf is a feminized autoflowering cannabis plant with a very strong aroma and a nice sweet taste. The original junction came from two White Widow based marijuana seeds strains. After this was done the genes of a Ruderalis was added that resulted in a real autoflowering plant. Feminized Little Dwarf is ready to harvest in 2 months regardless how much light she gets.

This short grow and flowering period reduces the chance of problems that can occur in the final stage. Because of this she's an ideal marijuana plant for inexperienced cannabis seeds growers.

Yield: 40 grams per plant
THC: Average
Height: 50 - 60 cm
Genetics: Several strains
Flowering time: 8 - 9 weeks
Effect: Stoned
CBD: Average

Jhado! This is all about research... nobody here smokes the weed... (I am not a stoner, I just know people who are... second hand smoke/contact highs, very very bad) :coffee:

Also, in my research... I've found that when dried and burned this plant smells just like the burning of other plants :chuckle: i would not recommend the smoking of it though, I hear its poisonous... (damnit, i can't find a picture, I'll take one at a later time/date)

A recipe of herb and mushrooms ...

Ingredients:
Psilocybin mushrooms
Cannabis

Method:
Boil mushrooms in water for 1 hour
Strain mushrooms and put the water back in the pot
Roughly chop some cannabis, put it in the pot and boil for 30 minutes
Strain cannabis, squeezing all of the water that you can out of it through the strainer
Dry out the cannabis

Drying:
Place on a plate in a thin layer (2 - 3 millimetres thick) and put in the oven - 200 degrees - for 10 to 15 minutes, rotating the centre part to the outside to make the drying even throughout
Alternatively, dry naturally in the sun

Because of the psilocybin in the water, it will enter the cannabis and turn it a purple colour once it is dried. It also adds the pschoactive compounds to the smoke, which when smoked gives you both effects at once. It's a VERY smooth experience and sets up a real connection with your surroundings. One person I know that has had some with me, who will usually only have one or two totes on a joint (if at all), will smoke it like it's a cigarette and ask for more. :D

Highly recommended.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong here...
Sativa is usually more fluffy, while Indica is more dense. Also slender leaves is typical of Sativa, and broader leaves are typical of Indica. Smoke it, Sativa usually wont put you to sleep, while Indica will. But you shouldn't go by just what it looks like, you should ask your provider...if they are growing, they know what they are growing (or should --- if they don't, they need to go back to the basics and begin learning).

RA, you got some crystals on that bud in your last photo lol :D
Don't quote me, but it looks like in those pictures mainly Indica... although in the second photo it looks like Indica on either side and Sativa in the middle based on the fluffy vs dense comparison.

Yea, I don't know if it had Malnutrition and dry spots or it's some kind of Orange Crush.

Smells extra fruity with a hint of citrus and does not make me tired.

I wish i could have only sativa for energy and pain relief.

Couch Lock is a bad thing to me.

G'day StarsChildren.

The tightness of the buds can be down to various factors, so it's not that you are "wrong". I did a google search to make sure I wasn't speaking out of my arse with this and found this thread ...

"In my experience I began producing fluffy. Lighting, Nutes, Air Flow, Temperature, & Humidity were neglected.

As I moved forward and developed my knowledge of this beneficial plant and its environmental requirements, I became aware of Temperatures and Air Flow.

I designed a grow room with Air Flow in mind. I still ended up with wispy/fluffy bud that had no weight or amazing medicinal grade.

I soon stumbled on a 1.2kW 6 plant grow that ended up the same. This person, pretty much like my first time, neglected certain aspects and hoped for the best.

Together we pondered over the idea of increasing bud density. Over time we both began to take more control of the plant environment. Gradually, over the timescale of tens of months and perpetual growing we started to get denser and higher yields.

I tell you what was done.

The triplets: Air Flow, Temperature, & Humidity

Crucial! Fresh Air and the removal of stale air is very necessary. This flow of good quality Air is a must and should not be skimped on. With adequate Air flow, one will seldom find many problems with Temperature and Humidity. If Temperature becomes and issue, then having a switched Exhaust can help keep Temperatures up. Or if the Temperatures are too high, then either more fresh air or an Air Cooling device is required.

In my experience, sufficient Exhaust was usually enough for 3000W of HPS in a room with a window open that neutralized the vacuum created by filtered 10" Extraction ducted to a chimney.

Nutrients. Know what your plants require. Learn each stage of the plants development. Understand why a plant requires certain elements at particular stages of its growth. Understand the physical traits of common deficiency. Over watering; Under watering; Potassium Lack; Over Nitrogen etc. I'm not saying one has to learn absolutely everything, but a little knowledge helps to counteract deficiencies as they arise in their early stages as oppose to waiting until your plant is stressing out.

Knowing what your plant food does for your plant is good information. Knowing what certain amendments to your nutrient solution can do for your plants is also beneficial. Much of this is trial and error. You can ask many people advice on feeding, and they do what is best for them personally. Who's to say it will work in someone else's Grow under different conditions? *shruggs*... Know your Nutes!

Lighting. I began my hobby with 250W hps & mh. But with all other aspects not in check, I could have ran 1000W and still not gotten anything better than I did. Using a lot of light is something I recommend to those who has the ability to address all of the point I raised above as a single unit.

Loose Vs Tight.. Well a friend just harvested some AK47 which is very very Loose. They grew in hydro under 'newbie' conditions. I am growing the same strain under very good conditions in comparison and my 40 day in to bloom AK47s are rock hard and still have a way to go. Environment and knowledge and access to resources the plant requires is all I provide that is different.

Sorry for the long post.

"Compact and loose buds are genetic. As a general rule, sativas have looser buds, and indicas have more compact buds... There are always exceptions (white widows have a lot of THC that has to be accomodated by bigger compact buds, even though it is sativa dominant). "

So there can be various factors to take into consideration. From previous conversations with someone that has grown for years, he mentioned that a lot of people don't cure the plant correctly, which from the thread is one of the factors to take into consideration.

If it's good smoke, there really shouldn't be an issue with the way it looks. Some of the cannabis that I've smoked mightn't look the way most are used to seeing it, which is due to the flooding of the market with hydro grown cannabis, yet it will still be as potent, or more so. It's not the looks, it's the THC content that is the important factor.

Actually, a lot of cannabis grown now is a cross between the two strains, indica and sativa. A lot of individuals selling won't have a clue about what strain the cannabis is that they are actually selling. On the other hand, there are some individuals that are right into knowing EVERYTHING about the cannabis that they grow. If you find someone like that, I suggest you become BFF. ;) :D
