Its a little more complicated than that. Take a look at the Paralympic ceremony, for example, and you will see it being MC'd by an atheist (Hawking) and a gay man (Mckellen), celebrating a profoundly anti-religion movement (the Enlightenment), mimicking Eve's eating of the apple but portraying it as a positive thing, and finally making a huge eye symbol on the ground. The "power" is in association and in getting all of those things celebrated as an example of who we supposedly are. Money is part of it, but is by no means the only part.

Actually I did dabble with the occult quite a bit as a teenager and didn't have a clue about what I was doing. Me and a friend tried summoning Satan, demons and did Voodoo on someone we didn't like. :emb:

I would hope so too. Knowledge is always a good thing. Allows us to make decisions coming from a position of knowing rather than ignorance. Would you rather humanity had stayed dumb? We fiddled about with ouija boards too and did the thing where you say bloody Mary's dead three times while looking in the mirror on Friday 13th. We never saw Satan, or contacted anything on the ouija board. The attempts at Voodoo were pretty futile too as me and my friend got the wrong end of the stick and used our own hair. :chuckle:
