It doesn't sell books though haha, I don't personally separate the increase in digital information, technological power used in medicine, war, security, entertainment etc from the seeming increase in doom(tm), "Apocalism", nihilism and apathy amongst general people, where the ruling classes have created situations requiring a bold and assertive technocracy to deal with them, we are a fearful, cynical, reactionary group that basically advocates non-participation in determining how this technology develops and in what kind of environment.

I'm not trying to offend you I'm just describing our culture, or at least the internet culture we've been part of, it instills certain ideas, attitutudes, perspectives..

Logging, Pollution, Corporations, Nuclear industry etc are all great things to be interested in, thank you for raising the issues, it would be cool to hear your thoughts on actually what is the problem with these institutions, are there any ways to solve those problems, if you share your thoughts about these institutions/abilities, their current and potential use by humanity, instead of simply theorizing an end date for life as we know it, I will entertain the possibility you are not in a cultural maelstrom.

I want to issue a formal and public apology to Gue­varista and RealAmer­i­can. I'm man enough to admit when I've been overly sensitive and in a bad place mentally. I had someone close to me pass away recently. That doesn't excuse my defensive and aggressive nature, but I felt I owed you both some explanation. I've had some time to reflect on my actions and have seen the folly of my previous mindset, I was in a dark place. I hope you can forgive me. I do respect you both. I enjoy reading your posts. It gives me something new to look at.

edit: I'm a little drunk at the moment, but that doesn't negate my true feelings about this situation. I don't know either of you personally, but I don't want to make either of you feel bad, even if but a little bit. That's not the real me.
