It scared the shit out of my mom and son...my stupid dog thought it was something to play with (got her inside now, snake is fine, dog didn't kill it). Can't stand sitting and looking through photos as I get the creeps looking at snakes. When it comes out from under the paddle board I can try and get better pictures...I think it's a baby, about a foot long.

Hard to tell but it doesn't look like a poisonous snake. Maybe a king snake?

Here's a king snake that looks like it has the same striping. Don't kill it! They are good! They eat poisonous snakes and generally won't bite.

Wont bite my ass K-Bone...the damn thing just tried to eat the broom I took out there to move the paddle board so I could get a better picture. It's mouth open and it made a striking motion towards it! eww... I don't kill snakes, I just don't like them. Hell I saw a baby rattler and just went the other direction last year and let the thing go on it's way. I wouldn't kill it if I was paid to, just, they don't need to walk themselves up on my walkway (by my sons pool) and park themselves there.

I had a king snake for a pet for a few years. It was cute but got away. Kinda sucked cause it was an albino so a hawk probably ate it. R.I.P Echo

Those were from after it tried to eat the broom...I swear if it had actually got a hold of the broom I probably would have thrown it and ran screaming into the house...

I lay my innate dislike, and fear, of snakes to the dreams I used to have when we first moved here...nightmares really, snakes were coming up out of the heating vents, falling in through windows, coming up out of toilets and sinks and overflowed the house.

That's a beautiful snake.

Snakes only bite if they feel threatened, as a defensive measure, or for feeding. You are way to big for the snake to think of you as food.

You could have a go at connecting with it and asking it to leave. Simply talk with it like you'd talk with a friend, it'll pick up on your intent. Animals are way more sensitive to that than humans are.

pro tip:
put your foot on its tail and pin it down and they end up trying to escape, so you put your other foot across the back of its neck (quickly) then you can pick it up by grabbing behind its head and throw it over the fence or whatever.
if you feel like a hard ass you can pick it up by the tail and whip it and it kills em.
