The police's role in society is to keep the status quo and nothing else.

If keeping the status quo involves supporting criminals and helping them and protecting these people then that is what they will do,all the police do is keep the status quo.
The police do not appreciate anybody rocking the boat even if they are promoting justice,All the police want is the status quo to stay undamaged which may involve protecting criminals at various times.

Yeah definitely psketti, the police keep the status quo and the pyramid structure intact and are not interested in right and wrongs.

The police protect established criminal gangs at all levels if possible and dislike anything that disrupts or causes ripples in the criminal system at all levels.

The police will often physically protect members of the established criminal gang system if they think they are in danger even if the member or members are responsible for killing people because police are not interested in right or wrongs or justice.

The police are one of the many organisations that are complicit in keeping the established criminal gang system throughout the uk.

Don't know about anyone else but when a cop shows up at my door the first thing out of my mouth is "I didn't do it"...gotten a few blank stares for that one typically followed by "what didn't you do?" :umm:
Otherwise, when I see a cop I have an overwhelming urge to :wtcslap: them or :hide:
The sheriff's, now there is some speed demons, 'round here if they ain't going at least 30 over the speed limit, their vehicle is normally turned off... no seriously, these lead footed badge wielding morons speed more than I do... I'm waiting patiently for one of them to pull me over so I can point that out :coffee:
I came into this world kicking and screaming while covered in someone elses blood
and I have no problem with going out the same way

It's like most things, imo. There are some excellent ones and some psycho ones. That shouldn't be the case. They should be excellent right across the board. I think they've deliberately lowered the bar though in recent years with their recruitment process.

Apparently, even the ordinary police hate traffic police.

The days of the 'bobby on the beat' have long since passed and so have the type of policemen who where still around back then.

All we have left are a bunch of cunts who follow a whole new set of rules.

There will always be a few who aren't of the cunt variety but I expect they spend most of their career's sitting behind a desk pen-pushing or working in small towns and villages where the worst thing to happen is Mrs Mcgregors pussy get's stuck up the old oak tree every second Thursday.

Things have got bad, when it takes a few moments of trying to visualise Mrs McGregor's pussy stuck up a tree, before it even occurs that it's a cat being talked about! :emb:

My view on the police is much the same as it is on most things - on an individual level the police service contains some awesome people and some complete arseholes - The police are there to catch those out who are breaking the rules put in place by the government. Rules which are not always transparent, fair or in the best interests of the majority.
Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.

I have to agree with Gilly, some are good, some not so.

Standards do appear to have slipped maybe that is because they literally can't get the staff these days.

Gotta agree with others who said they are just there to enforce rules, it's the rules they enforce and who makes them that's the problem, now more than ever financial interests govern the police and the laws they uphold, so they appear to actively enforce austerity measures throughout Europe and defend the status quo, really the police should be available to us for protection from financial interests when they inevitably infringe upon our life.

some of them are vile, especially what they expect to get up to in the bedroom department.
That's some CID for you.
Not to mention others but, well, it is all good I suppose.
