Seriously they don't like it

I'm chasing her about trying to rub it in but if I have to rate how happy my cat just now is on a scale of 0 -10 it would be minus 4

:hmm: :chuckle:
Bout like tossing 'em in a bathtub to bathe them, you swear they think they are gonna drown even though there is only an inch of water in there... maybe next time, try something she'd enjoy licking off. Like :umm: cream or milk, she may not complain as much then.

she's black and when i brush her big tufts of white dandruff come out . It makes her look like a homeless hobbo cat

Therefore I've been told to rub olive oil on her and it will sort her out

Yes, I've heard that rubbing just a little in will moisturise & condition. If you've poured a whole bottle on though, Dawn, she'll be pretty slippery to catch, and I should think she'll have grease all round the house. Being oil, it won't wash off so easy either. I'd try & towel off as much as you can, maybe.

Ahh, I see. Is there anything you can get from the vets that isn't as greasy?

She's going to try to lick herself clean, which will take ages, which will probably make her sick = dehydration
You should speak to a vet about safe methods of removal.

Not to mention the bad case of the craps she gets from that oil... vets here use that to treat cases of colic in horses.

actually she quite liked the olive oil.

I phoned the out of hours vet given the previous comments and there is no problem. the oil permeates their skin so little is left on the fur and if she licks the remainder it will do her no harm.

I don't randomly throw condiments over my cat , (apart from the time i dropped a bowl of coleslaw on her head )

Internal use is easier dawn :chuckle:

Put some olive oil in the critters diet...its hair and skin will be better for it.
