Has anyone worked in a nightclub before?

:conf: Job offer...and I have no idea what they want at the interview or what it is like working in a club. The last job I held was making sandwiches and slicing meat almost 4 years ago in a deli-slash-market...I haven't waited tables in 12 years and even then I struggled not to punch some people...and in-between those two jobs, I cleaned businesses (swept, vacuumed, etc...) 11 years ago...I have written books and designed websites/graphics but my resume would be sadly lacking if I had one. I have no skills unless we count putting as many back in 5 minutes as humanly possible (I can mix drinks but mine are typically 50-75% alcohol with a splash of non-alcohol), I haven't worn makeup in god knows how long, and the closest thing to a miniskirt that I own is knee length...as for low cut tops, a halter top is about it. I'm basing the appearance off what I have seen employees of clubs that I've been to on (so if wrong on what you should wear, please correct me). I could possibly carry a bat and bash people over the head, but law suits would definitely ensue from that.

Edit: Forgot I did freelance reporting in 2009 or 2010... for local papers, a national online paper, and photography for news agencies out of Phoenix a bit.

2nd Edit: Was thinking about the dates and they don't work out... I'm only 26, it couldn't have been 12 years ago although I swear it was 2000 that I waited tabled...I waited tables and cleaned when I was 17-18 so that's only like 8-9 years ago, which means it was like 2002-2003.
I came into this world kicking and screaming while covered in someone elses blood
and I have no problem with going out the same way
Last Edit: 15 Oct 2012 23:37 by StarsChildren. Reason: I'm stupid

Don't take your bat to the interview, Stars - it's not etiquette.Beyond that, I wish I could help you, but I've always hated night clubs & don't even go in as a customer. Too loud for my liking.

I'd probably whack myself with those before I hit anyone else with it :umm: . I have more than a few knives of varying sizes and a machete, but I think they want their customers thrown out alive.

Is there time to visit the club as a customer first?

The interview is later today. It is a new club, just opening (and hiring), I got handed a card and told they were looking for employees, I called after very little thought thinking "this will get me the fuck out of this house 3-4 nights a week and shut everyone up about my stability"...now that I am actually thinking about it, I'm wondering just wtf is needed to 1) get a job there and 2) wtf the person was on that handed me the card because I don't know what they saw that was "club employee" material unless they saw me yelling at someone recently :umm:

This is true. When I got a job after having my son, it was on of those where you've to do literacy, numeracy & key-board skill tests before thy'll even speak to you - then 3 pigging interviews.

During the final one, I ordered the interviewer to, "Shush", because he kept interrupting while I was answering his questions, and finally he asked if I thought things had changed while while I'd been out of the work-place.

I said yes, because when I used to recruit people myself, a scan of their CV & a half hour conversation was sufficient - whereas now the norm seemed to be to make applicants jump through hoops, then set the the hoops on fire & have them jump through again. Asked him what grand finale he'd lined up - riding a tiger bareback round the car park, or drawing the sword from the stone perhaps?

He said it was the first laugh he'd had that week, and gave me the job. (Little did he know I was perfectly serious).

Dude! :spank:
HALTER TOP
Black White Bkwh Embroidered Halter Top 38

Halter that goes on a horse
Halter Lime 300

Two VERY different things.
No, not into bondage unless it involves tying you up and torturing you :chuckle:

:hmm: I don't see it :iitm:
It's more like... :fraid:

Anyway... they said they'd call... and the fools asked me ridiculous questions too once we got past whether I can carry a tray with glass on it (I lied on that bit...I said yes I can, when in fact I'd probably fall over my own feet or run into a wall or floor :coolio: )...

How about going through your toes and fingers, one at a time with pliers/cutters and working my way back through them by the joint?
