I've several family members who are workaholics - none of them 'rich' as such, but all on decent incomes. I hate the rat race, as it gets in the way of all life's simple pleasures, but if people put their hearts & souls into their careers and do OK out of it financially, all credit to them, imo. I don't feel they deserve any resentment for doing well.
Neither do I Gilly. I meant that I have never met a person who had a problem at all with people enjoying their wealth if it's been accumulated by honest endeavour
Oh right - I read it as your not having known anyone who earned their wealth honestly.
But I do think some people assume anyone with money is immoral etc - or at least,, they're jealous of them, so like to cast aspersions.
It is me ho has to excuse myself: to posters of whom I have a lot of respect interprted my post the same way.
So my bad.
I do not doubt for a second that there are such jealous and spitefl people. And such people I suspect would, if they were very wealthy, be the type of people that I am talking about.
That is the wealth of others bothers them.
It does not bother me in itself, at all.
What I have is not compromised by what others have.
In fact it makes no odds (difference to me). At all.
I am fortunate that despite all my weaknesses, I am free of envy.
Thank the Universe
Never had it.
I am hoping I never will.
I hope i will never envy youth as i get older.
Not yet.
at least.
I take joy in others youth, happiness and pleasure
And I am not bsing
I really do
Its great
No, I am talking, all too often, about what I see as the impossible motivation of TPTB
Maybe i should stop trying to rationalise their condition
i.e. seek reasons
And accept that their condition IS the reason
