Or at the very least primal man slept off and on without venturing out for days at a time, and just drank some water and went to relieve their toilet needs, I don't even think they ate much, because I believe our metabolism at one time went so low in winter as to almost be hibernating or actually hibernating.

I have nothing factual on this just my own opinion. based on my body and inner being when the weather gets cold it seems to crave sleep and not food as much

Interesting...Maybe we ate more like Lions...gorging ourselves, then resting for 2 or 3 days. If my understanding about how LIons eat is correct of course, and I haven't just made that up :chuckle:
It would make sense to conserve energy in the colder months I think.

But what about people who always lived near the equator?

If they had always been warm why would they need to hibernate?

Again not scientific but I tend to eat more and do less in the winter. I also tend to sleep less too though but my sleep patterns aren't exactly 'normal'!

Good point, and probably not, and plus without air conditioning in a hot climate it's hard to sleep good from my experience

It's more profound since I moved to Greece as I tend to eat less and lighter when it's hot.
