Odd that you are talking to a sheep like me.
Odd that you can't see where this leads
Or for that matter can't see a nation state in Europe that has hardly any gun crime yet is armed to the teeth with fully automatic weapons and even grenades and rocket launchers...
Does that tell you anything? Like perhaps its not the guns that are the problem here?
In a country where people cattle charge into walmart stores to buy xboxes with $10 off and trample the staff to death in the process its not surprising to see many of them obeying everything they are told on tv.
If you look at different countries statistics you learn one big thing. They are not the same. What works in one country will not work in another. Obviously America is already flooded with guns. The problem will not just go away. Obviously gun laws alone will not stop gun deaths or school shootings.
I think it is odd that you pick a random thing like black Friday and try to paint all Americans as foolish stupid sheep. Using such broad brush strokes you miss details I think. Guns don't kill people but if people can't get assault rifles too easily,or at all, then it seems lives will be saved. After all there are stupid people out there and mentally I'll people, psychotic people etc.
I would also add better regulation of guns that are legal. I would have better healthcare for people with problems. Less medication. Testing of medications that are out there etc.
It is a complex issue so to simplify it is to fail.
Its not that complex. The Swiss are the people I mentioned.
They are very much law abiding decent people, even more so than the UK.
Yet they are armed to the teeth.
If you want your answers then they reside there, they do not reside in government solutions.
The Swiss have the most libertarian form of governance on the planet. Low gun crime, no mad shoppers.
The only places they police are the vatican and their own state.
Quality of life is what its all about IMHO. In the US it sucks donkey balls just as it does in many other countries.
In fact, everywhere you look, crime is lowest in countries with the highest quality of life (which I agree is itself difficult to determine but there are some really in your face aspects to it).
The least you can do is address those points first and take a critical look at where those aspects are missing in societies with issues.
AFAIK for example Andorra has the highest longevity, govt there plays a very small part in their lives and taxation is minimal.
Taxation itself again is not a sole cause IMHO as much as the use it is put to. If its pissed away on bankers and debt and war then its likely you'll find some repressed stress in the people and ofc you then add some bad food to the mix along with everything else thats fucked up and its not surprising you find millions dying in their 50's and 60's from heart disease.
Stress is a key factor and it has multiple sources.
Regulation of guns is obviously irrelevant given that the Swiss people have far less issues than the US despite the complete opposite when it comes to arms. if anything they have even less regulation there than the US.
if there is even 1 example that shows that regulation is wrong then you have to admit regulation is not the answer.
Its a typical authoritarian/follower mindset response. Problem-reaction-solution.
