They're going to be very selective when it comes to this so I don't think it will ever be a problem.

This.
Its not going to be handed out on the NHS, nor for that matter does most of the globe even have an NHS...

My immediate family have lived well into their 70's to 90's they were hard workers for themselves and worked right up to their time, I remember helping aunties to wash with the dolly tub and posser in short trousers.

Much depends upon keeping the mind active using ones hands, myself am peaking the more I learn to make, putting today tens of thousands of hours for ourselves and what comes from that bounty to stave off working myself to death working to slave for anyone who eould bleed you dry. If I live a day more it will be for myself.

Thats true, but that would be something like TVP which most people are completely unaware of and of those who are aware of it only a tiny few understand it and its implications. That would be evolutionary because it would abandon a multi generational paradigm and make the technology suit the situation rather than the other way around.
Currently its the other way around.

If living this long becomes a reality we will DESPERATELY need to reproduce in other planets.
Overpopulation will smother all of us.

I'm not convinced that it would be a problem, for starters theres dwindling numbers of people who bother having kids at all now, lower fertility rates and the 3rd world will never see this tech anyway...not for a hell of a long time, if at all.

The demographic stats speak for themselves, we will see a population decline between 2040-2050 and from then onwards there will be no reversing it. It might flatten out again after a while but we'll see a huge drop in population.

We will certainly see some rapid tech advances and terraforming mars is something we're not far off managing now, its easily imagined around 2070 -2080 to kick off I'd say.

Our biggest worry remains perception of overpopulation via terrible distribution and allocation of resources, the top 1% own a massive chunk of all the wealth and it just gets worse every day. People bunch in small areas and again this is just to pander to the convenience of the 1%.
We will have to overcome some economic voodoo before we worry about overpopulation.

Life has a pretty impressive method of 'living forever' in the genetic relay race which we are all here as a consequence of.
It's quite incredible to contemplate how we've all managed to be sat here considering this topic via primordial sludge, water creatures, amphibians and on to us primates. Each taking the baton from the last and moving on

The bodies are merely transport, the gene is the time traveller.

Edit:
Where it is going, and why, I have no idea.
