What would you do if you suddenly became rich? I don't mean a couple of mil, that's peanuts these days I mean upwards of 15, 20 million quid? How do you think it would affect the life of you and yours?
What would you do? Where would you go? Would you move house? I expect many of us would Would you have a spending orgasm, ejaculating money all over everything in sight?

I have often pondered what would do with silly money - first off i would ensure that my family and friends were debt free - and then I would want to build some sort of communal retreat that people can come to to learn new skills, meet others or just get away from it all for a while - attempt to make it as self sufficient as possible and slowly give the money that is superfluous away to whatever cause attracts me.

First of all, I'd be very wary about people who I don't like very much trying to get their filthy mits on it. I would keep bloody quiet about it and invest it wisely and find out how to get the best ROI and do all the tax dodging shit! I'd do the work on my house and get my solar pv array etc, but I certainly wouldn't display my wealth conspicuously. I would make sure my son is set up for life, can have his own property outright and investments. I'd pay for him to have a private eduction so he can hopefully network and get into a decent Uni. I'd aim to invest it in such a way that I could work as little as possible.

As far as friends and relatives are concerned, I would probably find a way of making an deposit into their bank accounts that doesn't have my name attached to it. Or find some other way of gifting it. There are certain people to whom I wouldn't give the drippings from my arse, and once people know you've come into some money, they'll start coming out of the woodwork.

I might also start some sort of charity.

Not long ago, you could get away with selling properties for a peppercorn rate - buy a mansion & sell it your brother for £5.00 - but I believe the tax man's got wise to that, and now they'd have you for the tax on it's full value regardless. (Thieving sods!)

As I've 2 brothers & a sister, & th'usband's got 2 sisters & a brother, any lump would be split evenly 8 ways to start with.

I'd buy 1 or 2 nice, but not flashy properties.

Others in the family would be investing theirs in businesses to make themselves richer, but I'd be looking at ways of setting up food halls & decent hostel type places for the homeless, and an animal shelter. Maybe focus on raising funds to support these so that my dosh wouldn't be all vanished in a couple of years.

I just want the Euromillions multi-rollover jackpot!

1. Travel around to tropical warm locations every winter.

2. Go to Germany and get some high end medical treatments for my nagging sports injuries from my 20's.

3. If i had 20 million i would take 5 million and build a new Gym at my almamotor where i coached basketball.

4. I would by an extra house for when some of friends have hard times they can stay there instead of an apartment.

^Now those 4 things are what i would do now that i'm in my 30's.

My friends that played ball professionally spent millions in their 20's just partying in Miami and indulging in girls.

Now that i'm older i try to be more grounded whether i like it or not

Hire a mercenary army and invade Wales.

Take control and seek out the ancestors of Llywelyn ap Gruffydd.

Crown them as the true leaders, re-arm and invade England via Cornwall and Devon.

The head of the Saxe-Coburg Gotha monarch will be spiked within a month.

I seriously don't think i'd do much. I never get much thrill from buying things. I'd probably fund organizations of my choosing, buy a ranch and live amongst hundreds of different animals.

I'd get me and my family out of here straight away probably...move to a semi country maybe small town type of place. Then I'd pay for fast track lessons in things, like driving flying lessons maybe, I wouldn't mind learning to fly...flying is probably easy, landing on the other hand...
I'd drive around Europe, stay in posh hotels...for a while.
There's loads of stuff I'd do.
I'd give a bit of cash to charity as well...eventually

I'd just spunk the lot, and grow old disgracefully.

Seriously? I would hope to do what somebody else said on this thread, a house for the homeless, feed 'em proper nourishing food, and a warm bed. But after alll the shit I've been through , I would keep some for myself, oh yes, this boy deserves a holiday.
