Could lead me to believe I have a antisocial personality, but still basically I am very friendly in public, but really private in personal life and don't really want to be that social enjoy my solitude in other words.

And at times things people comment on kind of pisses me off where as some dudes can shrug it off

This has me confused anyone know what I''m talking about

There's nothing wrong with being guarded with your personal life, Rick - it's probably quite wise to be so. As you're friendly when you're out & about, you don't sound like you're anti-social to me.

Re some things pissing you off - we're all different, aren't we. You've never come across as unbalanced or anything. It can probably be moods that affect that too. I know my temperament varies with how much sleep I get. (Been bad with insomnia lately btw, so watch it!) :)

Insomnia, tell me about it. My sleeping is all over the place nowadays. I know i have a hell of a lot on my mind at the minute, but this just silly.

@Rick, I'm a bit like you, very friendly and outgoing in public, but guard my personal time fiecely. I am becoming quite the loner lately.
I have learnt to not give a shit what others say and think though.

one of my thoughts which I wish I didn't t is that I don't trust people in general and think most take kindness for weakness or they think you have a ulterior motive if you help them you get that with yourself/

In public, I walk around in kind of a bubble, won't speak unless spoken to, but when I am, I am friendly and polite, etc. I don't give much eye contact, try to keep exchanges short. Is that really me, or symptomatic of some kind of... illness? :chuckle: I didn't really learn small talk, social mingling stuff... I might be viewed as unaproachable, antisocial as a result, but that's just avoidance, I've built up a wall around myself, so I can avoid akwardness and embarrassment due to lack of confidence in social situations...There, I've answered my own questions :D

I'm alright, as a person :)

My opinion of you is that your a pretty tough person and don't take crap, and could be very fierce if you really just don't like someone, maybe even a little to harsh at times unintentionally of course

Yeah there a lot out there who take advantage of kindness, I have found that out in the past. I'm also guilty of being too trusting, and this has backfired on me a lot lately. It's made me more cynical, which I don't like. I want to be able to trust people, and carry on being kind. So I'm a lot more selective these days.

I really thought you were the exact opposite of that particular statement you made

I might be more like the way you thought, but for a lack of confidence. The more I mix, the more outgoing I will become I suppose. I have been described as "a man of few words" in the past :chuckle: Still waters run deep and all that.

I have a bit of a fear of social situations, probably because I still care what people think...I'm probably expecting too much of myself, it's perfectly fine to talk about the weather sometimes.

It would be foolish to go around blindly trusting anyone and everyone.
I trust myself :chuckle:
Trust is faith isn't it? Is it based on love? Empathy? Being lost?

By the end of my 20's my main group of friends from my hometown became mentally and physically draining.

I told them i would hang out tonight but tbh i would rather just watch a movie and chill.

Rick if your friendly in public your not anti-social, maybe just anxiety like batou said.

Rick, I'm not sure whether this is intended as a compliment or a rebuke, so 'shut yer face', and 'thank you'. :D

(And any horridness I partake in is completely intentional, so it's fortunate that I like most people most of the time).

I'm sorry some people have messed with you, Jhado, and, while I think you're right to be more selective, I'm glad it hasn't left you unwilling to extend trust to anyone.

Not just cynical jhado imho it will eventually make you mean spirited with people, and lose faith in them, and just act as if everything is a boxing match in your mind , not physically but a mental battle to keep strong and not let them get you down, or make you weak and vulnerable, and prone to errors of judgement.

When you get weak your prey simple as that also imo

Thankyou Rick. Due to current circumstances I have become weaker, and certain people have preyed on this.

I have had the shit kicked out of me emotionally, and have little or no confidence at this moment in time.

When you reach a certain point of desperation you either break emotionally, or become smart and stealthy and then learn to single out the positive, people, places, and things, that will save you from torment and make you strong and more life experienced, and how things are in your world or whats really going on in reality in other words, and what is real or just a hopeful fantasy imo

 It won't get 'easier' imo. You still have to take a gamble sometimes unless you resign yourself to not experiencing things for fear of being hurt. Just keep your chin up, and try not to let people make you feel like crap. Easier said than done. :broken:
