Everyone's being terribly po faced about the whole Lance Armstrong thing. It does seem a little bit over the top. What he did wasn't very sporting, but get over it people ffs.

I don't know about all the in's and out's of his situation, but it does seem like their casting him as some incredible villain, which to me seems odd considering all the other things going on in the world.

I also find it funny that a skinny bike rider taking drugs is made into a bid deal in this world...

The guy rides bikes who cares, it's not like it's the NFL, NBA, MLB or NHL.

I think part of the outrage is that it seriously pissed off the UK folks, and the French, so it's a big deal, the ones that he may have bumped out of their potential spot in the standings are also mad as hell .

Which is very understandable

It has been blown out of proportion in the media, but the Tour de France is a massive sporting event, it probably gets the second highest worldwide TV audience of any sporting event behind the World Cup.

Imagine if tomorrow, for example, Roger Federer failed a doping test, and it turned out that he'd been doping all the way throughout his tennis career. That's basically a decade of the sport down the drain. This is what the case is with regards to Armstrong, he's single-handedly ruined an entire sport in practical terms, and its image possibly irreversibly. It's not unreasonable that he should pay some penalty for that. He's lucky that he's not in prison, actually.

Yes the sport took the worst hit ever and probably ever will have.

Piers Morgan is the gossip columns equivalent to Cescil Rhodes of yesteryear, sent to do a distracting models for anyone who would listen.

Taking drugs by sportsmen is akin to a highlander type attitude, where there can only be one, at any cost.

If Federer failed a doping test it would certainly not mean a decade of the sport down the drain.

I know Venus Williams and use to hang out and party with her when I lived in South Florida.

I'm sure her and her sister would laugh at your "decade of the sport down the drain" comment.

My Dad played collegiate tennis but most men don't take the sport very serious in the US.

It don't know much about steroids or blood doping but who cares about what a bike rider does.

"lucky that he's not in prison" who fucking cares...lmao

You know Venus Williams, you know people out of the NFL, you do well to find the time to come on here!

I'm in my early 30's now and i left South Florida to come home to the North East at age 28 to coach high school basketball.

Now i'm just a worn down conspiracy theorist with a much lower quality of life than i once had.

I might have legitimate depression or maybe my life is not that fun anymore.....idk

Wow. I don't think I've read so many rank dumb comments that I have on this thread. What a bunch of pricks.

It's like being back on the DIF with ignorant and baiting comments.

Oprah is a great interviewer, and she has always seemed like a hot babe to me, her man Stedman missed out, I could never figure that relationship out, and why you don't hear that much about him no more.

I like taking a mountain bike ride on a scenic nature trail.

But the idea of men wearing skin tight clothes racing each other on bikes is ridiculous to me.

And the fact that anyone would care about Lance blood doping is even more insane.

I also think car racing is the stupidest thing ever.

I like team sports because of the comradery that goes along with it and also the girls that come as perks.

My dad plays golf but that really never interested me either .

Lots of people enjoy watching sporting competition. They've all been cheated, as well as the other competitors. What's not to get?

The people who watch sports have not been cheated.

The other competitors are probably aware of blood doping in cycling.

I could care less about Armstrong but i don't see the big deal in all this.

Of course they have. They've been duped by something that wasn't the real thing.

Being aware of doping going on generally hardly makes it OK to have been cheated by it.

Perhaps you'd care & see it as a big deal if you were a professional sportsman.

I'm watching an interview with Michele Obama and they ask her opinion on Lance Armstrong...

She had positive things to say about him.

Bidens wife was quick to point out how Livestrong raised money for cancer.

I guess it is a bigger deal than i thought.
