Hi everybody, I want to learn about the Conspiracy world view of Alan Watt, Jeff Rense, David Icke and Alex Jones and what the new age is all about but I can't handle the likes of GodLikeProductions, Prison Planet or the David Icke forum, I found this forum on page two of a google search while looking up David Icke's forum and liked the mission statement.

It seems quite alot quieter than I thought it would be but that's not always a bad thing.

I have a few questions that I would like to ask people who are aware of the various conspiracy theories and new age perspectives, but you can feel free to ask me any questions about myself (within reason) first :)

1. Is conspiracy theory a negative world view? Does it seek to overthrow, subvert and undermine modern society?
2. Do conspiracy theorists agree on things or disagree, if so what things do they agree on and what do they most firmly disagree on?*
3. Can people of any religious or political, moderate or extreme understand conspiracy theories? This is related to the zeitgeist films and the theories about all religions being astro-theology.
4. What does waking up to the truth actually entail, does an ideology or world view accompany being "awake"?

*I have already some ideas of the answers, like I know people disagree over the Jews, the Black nobility, the Catholics and the Freemasons, as to which are actually in power, it seems everyone agrees on an esoteric history of the past few hundred years but just differs about the names, i'm really interested in the substantial disagreements, ie regarding morality, the universe, evolution, prehistory, and what the main points of disagreement are.

:hi: hello and welcome.

1. anything can be a conspiracy theory imo. i think its more about opening up the closed doors and exposing secrets than purposely overthrowing modern society (although that is bound to happen when secrets and such are exposed).
2. personal beliefs...you can agree on some things but disagree on others.
3. yes
4. again, personal beliefs come in to play, it could mean something slightly different for every individual

Conspiracy theory is kind of the bog of eternal stench between truth and lies :D

Conspiracy theory... can be used as a discreditor of truth, like it's synomymous with "paranoid nut".

hey mike welcome aboard dude.
i dont know how good i can answer you, but i try to.
1. i think conspiracy theories can be negative , but in the most part its just a fact that the majority are being lied to and manipulated by a minority. society has its problems and you probably cant ever have a utopia, but things like the war on drugs, war on terror etc.. all these things to exert control over a population, you can't help but wonder cant it be better, and maybe aren't a lot of the problems created so the 'solutions' benefit the minority in power. you notice always the solutions involve less freedom or some such.. so i dont think it seeks to overthrow society, but take it back and let us reach potential. i dont know what the answer is tbh
2. conspiritards disagree on everything pretty much. whoever is dish of the day, web bots, alex jones, henry makow.. someone inevitably parrots what they say, then someone else says thats bullshit web bots are gay and you're gay and i hope you burn in hell. i dont know why is like that it just passionate i guess, and a lot of fantasy, frustration.
3. anyone can understand c.t. i think you just keep open mind and try to decide for yourself what is likely or possible based on evidence you can find. if it was a fact it wouldnt be theory so..
4. i dont know about being awake either. maybejust aware is better. aware that what is presented to you by the people in power isn't the whole truth or in some cases any of the truth
my limbless friend will die alone

Violence is not the answer, it is the question. the answer is yes.

I'd be wary of Conspiracy Celebrities/personalities. Most of them are shady and motivated by their own inflated ego. I mean, there are some good podcasts and videos out there but...like stated above, "question everything". I drive myself crazy with "what ifs"! Haha! :hahano:

I kinda get irritated by political conspiracies because it just gets my energy all in a bad place. I like speculating on subject matter like other dimensions, aliens, altered states, ect. But I guess sometimes TPTB tie into those things. I guess by "political", I mean the really bad soap opera/ "reality show" that is American government.

Wow great answers so far thanks, I can see I made the right choice to come here and not GLP :)
Thank you for the welcome Starschildren, Batou and Rick.
I see there is a poet on board, I doff my cap to you mr Wolf, a very insightful reply, truth is something I have pondered alot recently owing to personal circumstances, is the conspiracy movement the truth movement or are they two separate things?

Maybe I've been trying to understand this stuff in the wrong way, focusing on the conspiracies etc, but I don't really know what you measure "theories" against to know whether they're "truth" or lies?

measure them against your instincts, your gut feelings. if it feels wrong, if every fiber of your being is screaming 'its wrong' it probably is. but along that line of thinking, what is right or wrong for one person may be just the opposite for another. truth can be subjective.

Back when I first got into all this, it was everything. I left nothing basically. Couldn't get enough and touched the sides of all walks of conspiracy life and at first it was pretty exciting. Then it all came crashing down the deeper I got. Fucked with my head bigtime and I had too take some time out. When I came back to it, I'd decided to try and just stick to the stuff that you could get facts for, proper ones, not 'internet' ones :D

I find, on a whole, this works for me and I avoid certain things like the plague - mostly because of how they screw with my head and not because I believe they're real or not. Everyones different though so that's just how it's panned out for me.

I have a buddy who's been on ATS for about 3 years, he and I always chat for hours as I'm very into mysticism and history, he really likes Nasseem Harraiman and David Icke, I think he has some good stuff to say sometimes, but this thing my buddy forwarded me really annoyed me actually, as I "wasted" quite a lot of time in further education :(
The process of mainstream ‘education’ swamps the left side of the brain with the system’s version of reality by communicating ‘logical’ and ‘rational’ information based on ‘observable evidence’. Students are then told to retain this information, and revise it thoroughly, before taking something called an ‘exam’ in which they must repeat to the system what the system has told them to believe.

Exam passes and degrees allow you to choose a specialisation of science, medicine, academia, law or even politics and media which are dominated by degree-passers. Would-be scientists, doctors, academics and the like then take more exams and tell their speciality institutions what they have been told to believe, and if they do this very well they become a ‘scientist’, doctor, lawyer or professor of something or other and they may even be so successful that they go on to run those institutions. How lovely, except for one little problem.

It’s all BOLLOCKS.

This ‘rational logic’ based on ‘observable evidence’ is illusion. What is considered ‘rational’ is merely a point of observation dictated by your sense of what is real. If that sense of reality is bloody nonsense to start with then so will be your ‘rationality’ and the same with what is perceived to be ‘logical’.

This is in keeping with the so-called ‘Icke’s Law’, discovered by a man called David Icke after long experience and much observation, which contends that bollocks begets bollocks. It is, apparently, closely associated with the law of cause and effect.

Bollocks begets bollocks and that is why human society is drowning in bollocks.
from the David Icke Newsletter.

I was quite disappointed when I read this, I think everyone benefits from the huge advances of Western Science, especially people in the West like David Icke, without logic, reason, calculus and scientific study of the Earth and Metals we wouldn't have the means available to know so much about the world or our history :(

Hi Mike. Nice to meet you. :)

I just wrote quite a bit about the article above, then tried to move my mouse out of the way with my elbow, and somehow it made me exit the browser, losing what I'd typed. Don't have time to re-do it now, so I'll come back to it later.

I like the way you question things - there are so many people around the internet who 'know' everything! :D

Oh gawd this thread could go on forever :D

You'll find a huge variation in opinions on this just as there are on many other topics. Not everyone agrees on this 'esoteric history' you mention either :)

Its also bloody difficult to say what the 'main' points of disagreement are :killinme:

Hello Mike and welcome to the forum, it's rather nice in here, specially compared to few other 'woo-woo' forums around, I'm sure you'll like it here. People around these parts are nice, quite down to earth folks actually, I find this to be the strength of SZ, among other things. :D

If you want my advice, go on and educate yourself on conspiracy stuff, the researchers etc., Just don't let it dominate your thoughts all times. Don't get your head too deep in the cesspit that is 'conspiracy scene' that'll only get you a one big headache. ;) In my experience, the best information about all weird stuff comes from 'normal' people, like guys and gals over here for example, 'small' people have not so much reasons to lie or spread disinformation, and they can become very good friends too.

Cheers mate, and enjoy your stay!

I would say that conspiracy theory for the most part is an Anti-War / Anti-Monarchy world view.

And then people who believe in Aliens fall in somewhere also.,
