Like back in the old west day's, or whatever classification your particular country had in it's history when they packed guns openly.

I think we will.

we do in arizona... you're allowed to carry as long as it's in sight (hips, side, thigh, back, etc...). i even think a year or so ago they were talking about letting people carry concealed without a license (not that it stopped anyone before who wanted to carry concealed anyway). if you have it in a car though your "supposed" to have it unloaded with the gun and ammo/mag in two separate locations. and last i heard minnesota was the same. a lot of ranchers still carry on the saddle too.

but country wide? idk...people are so anal about guns these days, more a result of people not growing up around them with parents who knew how to handle the weapon properly than anything else

It would take a major bad economic event and breakdown of law and order but I think it could happen again, maybe not in the next ten or so years but things are getting steadily more dangerous.

i dont care how bad shit gets, those can both do some damage and i dont want an inexperienced moron trotting around with one...theyre either gonna fuck up or shoot themselves in the foot trying to load it (not to mention with the winchester theyre gonna take their shoulder out and be useless after one shot). nah, sorry to say, nationwide prob wont happen and if it did i'd be bunking up in the hills as far away from city limits as i could get. people have been away from guns too long, it'd be like re-training their way of thinking if it happened and in the process of doing so things could go really wrong.

I would imagine it was very scary world when people had swords on their belts, and yes it would be dangerous if open gun came back in the future, but it would be a very dangerous world anyway.

i imagine it was too... things were a lot simpler then tho, even if there was a lot of crap that was wrong with it, it was still simpler.
try walking down the sidewalk with a sword strapped to your hip or back now days (or even in your trunk for that matter) :hahano: people not only give you funny looks, they call the cops and the white coats :iitm:

I know a person can have a Bowie sized knife openly exposed on their belt even in most establishments, but not as many as years back, and no knife blade over three inches long can be in your pocket, especially a lock back, they will cut some slack on a folding knife, but a sword may not be allowed I''m going to check on that.

Meaning in public not so much in stores I think but not sure

lol...sometimes they can be more stupid about knifes/machete's than they are about guns.
a few years ago (okay, more than a few) my nephew was carrying a knife in his pocket (forgot he had it when he went to school), it wasnt even an inch long even when open
kinda like this, maybe a bit bigger

well the school found it, i dont remember how, tried to expel him over it...my brother came unglued on them. it wasnt so long ago when every kid from like 5 up had a pocket knife, now its a no-no...my son sliced his finger open with a steak knife when he slipped cutting a box, had to get stitches, the nurse tried to give me the "knives are bad" speech, i cut off with "knives are only bad if your stupid and dont know how to handle one, accidents happen".

I'm not sure you're allowed to carry any weapon in the UK. I think cross-bows are allowed.

I carry a Swiss army knife with me always, because if has such useful tools on it, like scissors, cork-screw, bottle-opener, tweezers etc. But someone would have to quite patient & co-operative for me to succeed in doing them much damage with it if using it as a weapon.

You might get away with making a blow-tube out of a Bic Biro. May check if it's feasible to grow curare & extract the resin for dipping darts in. :rab:

I have a pocket size Swiss army knife but hardly ever use or carry it, what do you use the cork screw for?

Removing corks (or the plasticky version stoppers most corks have been replaced with) from wine bottles. :)
