So i'm watching this movie on Netflix that came up under (because you watched Fish Tank)

This scene explained alot to me about some of the controversial topics on DIF.

Just curious to hear what people from the UK have to say about the skinheads saying they are NAN.

Here's the lowdown:

In England, ANYONE who has hair less than 3mm long is a Nazi.
Most barber shops have a separate area dedicated to the 'skins'. These areas are festooned with Nazi memorabilia and have a stereo playing great speeches by the likes of Goering, Borman and the Fuehrer himself on permanent loop.
I myself have been drawn into the glorious new Reich after reading the Bhagavad Gita and being inspired to go hare Krishna. I learnt that the Krishnas are actually a crack squad of stormtroopers, regularly bashing up 'wogs', 'pakis', 'pikeys' and the gay men. It took me months to grow my hair out to 4mm and thus break free of their incessant propaganda.
I now live my life as a 'hippy', weaving yogurt.

ALL shoe shops have a separate area full of doctor marten boots that is very similar to the rooms in the barber shops. Be very careful when choosing your boots...patent DMs are fine as are anything with less than 14 holes. Go beyond that and you ARE a Nazi. You've been warned.

Get into animal rights....Nazi.

It's a Minefield tbh...

Other things you might try are:
Hiding all the 'foreign muck' foods in your household. To see these about will only fuel her Nazi fires.
Restricting her field of vision with blinkers. If she can't see the many types of people that walk the islands she won't be inclined to hate on them.
Encouraging her to spend time reading suitably open minded material. The Guardian for example is a great help. Over time she will learn that there is great wisdom in those column inches.

If all else fails, bring in the big guns and get Sean adl tabathingy to email her. He will put her straight.

RA - you should watch these. I think all the episodes are on youtube. It's an 80s classic from back in the days when TV entertainment actually dealt with social issues. It contains a lot that is depressingly relevant today.



You should also watch this from the same writer. At seven feature length episodes it is very long, but I think it is a serious contender for best TV drama ever made.

This is England is an awesome movie. That nazi was played by the excellent actor Stephen Graham who plays All Capone in Boardwalk Empire.
