She might still come back for it.... keep your eye on the little baby though, won't you?

Btw: are their owners not home yet? Are they skiing in Aspen, or something? :conf:

The way I've been reading it, he's destined to have one of those kittens as part of his family and the chances are his kids have already named it :D

Sorry, I never addressed this earlier; her 'owners' are a spinster who doesn't let any animals in her house, but loves all the Athens street animals (as do I) but she kind of encourages them to congregate around her house, and consequently ours. I don't mind it with the dogs because I'm a dog bloke, dogs don't intrude on my vegetable patch, dump puppies on my driveway and shit on my quad bike. But she (the neighbour) is also 'old school' Greek and they can take or leave most animals without any sort of emotional attachment like a typical Brit may have. It's 2 stereotypes in one, but I've always said, stereotypes are generally based on types. Experience has shown me little to question this theory.

D'oh, that kitten needs it's mum for warmth & food. You'd best adopt the whole kitty family, Oi.

Awoke this morning to find one of next doors cats had 4 kittens under our front bushes. One of them is now a good 10 metres away from the others, slightly bloody (though I can't see any injuries as such) and 'crying'. The mother is around but seems as bewildered as me.

Do I intervene, stay well away, or something else?

I would move the kitten back close to main litter first off the mom will decide if it's going to live, sad but true
I have been in this situation, usually the mom will move them when she figures out where to go but they knew me. if there completely feral she may just go under a house and you won't see the kittens till their old enough to run away from you, then people call me or someone to trap and relocate them.

If they belong to the neighbor I hope they are responsible and caring for the kittens.

I'm not putting across very well the Greek mentality to animals. Not one to generalise, I leave that kind of thing to the Russians, but Greeks don't have the same 'affection' for cats and dogs as Brits, not saying one is better than the other, there's less of an attitude towards domesticating them here, that doesn't mean the stray cats and dogs aren't cared for, quite the opposite.

Whenever I make the short walk to the local shop or offy I have a 'pack' that appears from the trees to be lead with me having given them very little encouragement, nvm scran, to incentivise them, and weirdly as a result, I fear domestic dogs kept as property protection here, more than I do stray packs.

I'm willing to re-incarnate her and slowly kill her by inserting those little blue straws that came with the milk she sought to snatch straight into her veins and blood supply. Ah, she hasn't got one now has she?

I'd like to clarify at this point that I lay no claim to Thatcher's death, just a deep sense of overwhelming joy.

If these sentiments have somehow become confused with my sentiments towards the kitten you may want to take a harder look at yourself than me.
