No. Whether she's good or bad is of no relevance. The 'evil' is in the act of taking her life. Surely.

If he took the life of a serial nonce...?

Different ballgame.

Same act.

That's i-b's point.

I guess I'm coming more from the 'result' angle then.

The act is indeed the same but there's a world of difference between some freak killing old Mrs Groggins for her pension money and someone deciding to finish off some fuck that had been part of a pedo ring.

But can one be 'evil' and the other 'justice' when they are so similar an act?
The problem here is that we see "evil" as something separate from us but it's ingrained into our very essence. Killing someone to benefit humanity could be considered by some to be evil and others to be good. It's subjective but you can't deny that part of it is there.
Call me by any name, any way it's all the same.

Surely the answer is that everything is really neutral and perspectives such as 'good' and 'evil' are just down to perception?

Indeed. From an objective view, does it really matter what we humans do to one another? No, we are little lifeforms who only understand one reality.

Perception is key but is killing somebody who is "evil" really a good act however you look at it you killed a person, maybe orphaned some children who grow up without love or intent on revenge etc. It is not just removing one evil because it potentially breeds new evil.

evil people get in you way. talk shit and hinder you. good people help you along and give you stuff like a fancy hat or a free apple. sometimes evil people pretend to be good people and they give you bad things disguised as good, like a cursed button or jesus toast, but they made it themself.

No, this makes complete sense to me and is one of the few topics I agree wholeheartedly on and have pondered over many a time. Without "evil" there is no "good" and so whomever so believes that evil should be eradicated and good accepted has an illogical belief. Many religions have this teaching without seeing their own hypocrisy. One cannot exist without the other. Therefore, someone or something cannot be wholly evil or good.
Many people believe children are born innocent (and by innocent without "evil") yet I remember experiencing "evil" thoughts that were normal to me. Only when I heard other people condemning them did I begin to feel guilty.

This was a problem I had/have when doing Tai Chi and the whole Yin Yang. What is the point of spiritual growth if it just means the negative force will have to manifest elsewhere? It makes logical sense to me but doesn't "feel" right as a conclusion.
I'm more of the opinion "spiritual" growth occurs through the interplay of yin and yang, negative and positive, it takes time and experience, many people's actions called "good or evil" are motivated by their experience...The reason it may not "feel" right, is that the heart's an idealist ;)

Mike i guess that's true.

That's part of what I'm saying. Killing somebody you perceived as evil might be good for you (for whatever reason - they may have killed a family member or something) but it would probably be perceived as evil to them.
The reality is it's none of the above. Everything just is. Individuals then polarise their perception of that event... to them you could then be perceived as evil.

everything is perception though too right.. up is down and down is up and words just give us a definition of something. you tell someone sour means green, then the grass is sour to them. but to us its green... and dont you need some sort of port in the storm to navigate.. cos we're just monkeys on a rock in an infinity of space in an infinitesimal slice of time, so what difference does anything we ever do make to anything else on the scale of things.. nothin. so in a way its useful to us personally since our perception of the universe is everything we have, so its our own personal infinity , to define things as good or evil, right or wrong etc
blah blah you're all holograms and im god.

What about inanimate objects or corporations, people say "banks are bad", I get ignorantly dismissed by people I talk to as believing "banks are good" when I don't I just disagree with the idea they are "bad" or have some evil intention, or can even really be referred to as one entity, there are undoubtably some banks that are worse than others, more speculative, more risk based investments, more gambling addicted stock brokers and Executives etc, so IMO just labelling banks bad, or capitalism bad is a simplistic assumption, and doesn't really take into account the development, environment and circumstances that govern it's operations.
