Yes, who knew Marxists were inherently sexist and homophobic? :chuckle:

Well it was the logical progression, after all every member here has shown a complete ignorance as to the subject since day 1, it's just another example of idiots throwing names, logos and slogans around, 90% of this forums activity.

You don't like your ideology being misrepresented? How is it being misrepresented? Are there historical cases of Marxist feminist/LGBT groups to contradict the claims?

Calling Marxism an Ideology is already a misrepresentation.
But yes, as I said you've all shown you're wilfully ignorant, bored, negative cynics with nothing new or interesting to say, so I won't waste my time with you, as I wouldn't bother trying to explain to the ideologically blinkered Eternal Spambot, Lime Lady or Jimmy Haddocker

Who cares what you think or believe or say in your op?
You can say the KKK were all Marxist Jewish intellectuals who supported Israel.
The only person who looks foolish, ignorant, childish, IRRATIONAL etc is you I'm afraid.

Well I for one do know quite a bit about the subject actually Mike. ;) I know the historical background of Marx, and also his close friend Engels, who gained his political leanings from seeing first-hand the horrible poverty & deprivation here in Manchester back in the nineteenth century, when the industrial revolution was in full swing.

Interesting character was Engels. Sent here by his rich German cotton mill-owning family to 'learn the ropes'...he effectively led a double life....respectable on the outside, very unrespectable underneath. He kept a secret mistress, Mary, in a terraced house in the Hulme district, for many years, whilst maintaining a family home & lifestyle image in a more salubrious neighbourhood of the city.

He also only corresponded secretly with Marx by letter via the landlord of a pub that he frequented, as he didn't want anyone (his family) to know that he had connections with such subversive characters.

That's why I won't be saying that.

Still nothing to challenge the OP.

I didn't have you down as a prudish moralist mr Geezer, so what do you think, do we judge someone on their private life, the gossip we hear about them, or do we judge them on their words and actions, their public stance?

Engels wrote some good books, have you ever read one of them?
He also only corresponded secretly with Marx by letter via the landlord of a pub that he frequented, as he didn't want anyone (his family) to know that he had connections with such subversive characters.

Please continue :corn:

Marxists judge by gender and sexuality, how does that differ?

What is that even in response to?
You're not making any sense, what is your evidence for such a ridiculous proposition?

Good god no....no moralistic prudishness here.... :chuckle:

My 'background info' on Engels there was merely intended to show that (a) I know something about the topic, as I stated, and (b) to give a bit of a portrayal of someone who was clearly an interesting bloke. ;)

Mike, you should read the book 'Manchester, England - the story of the pop cult city' by Dave Haslam (the well-known DJ).

A most interesting book.

My 'background info' on Engels there was merely intended to show that (a) I know something about the topic, as I stated,
Are you aware, there is a difference between "the topic" you refer to here and "the subject" (Marxism) I referred to earlier, some gossip you heard from Dot Cotton isn't really that informative about "the subject".
So, when you're ready feel free to follow through on your claim to possessing something of worth:
I for one do know quite a bit about the subject actually Mike.

Just to clarify you read this thing about Engels in that book and have never read one of Engel's books, therefore "the subject" you "know quite a bit about actually" is Manchester and pop culture, and not as claimed previously "Marxism".

But thank you for the interesting fact that Engels was an adulterer and social chameleon, you've already provided oi with some evidence to support his OP.

^ See my previous post above Mike.

Manchester is where it all started, all of it. The industrial revolution was born here, and this city led the way. For everything, including your political ideals... ;)
