The problem with being so buff ( ) is the lack of fatty areas. Butt cheeks are a non starter and having it on my chest would require the removal of my sacred chest hair. It's taken my over 40 years to grow that!!

Perhaps I should just pop it on a piece of paper and sellotape it on my back instead.

Seriously, an experienced tattoist will ask you about any pain and should be able to adjust things to make you as comfortable as possible. If it's just simple script you're thinking of, that should not take too long and probably won't require more than a couple of passes to complete.

It only really starts to hurt if it is something with detailing that takes some time to finish. For me, the only pain I've ever experienced is with things that need colouring, where the needle is going over areas several times. When I say pain, it's more of a dull ache if anything, even on the bony bits. You will find the area will numb quite quickly in most instances anyway. For pieces that take longer, you should periodically have a break as you may start getting cramps n shit.

Even then, it depends on your pain threshold as oi stated. You mention you have a hairy chest, so you should be fine.

If you've already found somewhere you like the look of, pop in and have a chat. They're usually very friendly and informative, especially if it's your first time.
