I'd recommend having one of these on hand, with a few spare gas cannisters just for emergencies. Cheap & portable.

Nah...they're useless and expensive and take aaaaages to boil water....the calor gas ones are far better and cheaper and cook at a higher heat.

We are not allowed calor gas in my flat .

I think because it's a council flat they think we will be terrorists, or just explode the building

saying that though I have gas central heating and combi boiler .....just not allowed a gas cannister
