I'm just about brave enough to attempt basic plumbing. The most electrical work I've ever done is install a plug socket...hence my still being alive n shit.

Stlll, if I turn the bath around its something I can consider at a later date when funds might better allow and I'm a bit more confident with the electrics.

I actually wanted to study for a qualification in plumbing a couple of years back when I was struggling to find work. The only thing that stopped me was that I couldn't get any support financially re. the rent so would have had to make myself homeless to do it.

I could still try and find an evening class or something now though. I know this isn't very gay, but I actually find the whole subject really interesting.

Don't tell anyone I said that though. :umm:

Plus, I think I'd look killer in one of those shirts like the bloke in the post above.

Found a couple of places where they are a bit cheaper too - AND - I know I shouldn't have, but I just got myself a payday loan. It's the only way I'm ever going to finish the bloody thing as 'saving' is nigh on impossible when you're earning the same as a 16 year old.

I know. It's something I wish I'd done in my teens instead of wasting all those years in school and 'higher' education.

Look where the fuck that got me...

OK...it's taken me two days, but finally managed to lubricate the cold water cock enough to turn it.

Compression fittings+flexi tails for the taps= piece of piss  You may find plastic push fit easier and a bit cheaper though.
Tbf though, soldering copper pipe isn't hard.

Be aware that whilst you won't lose pressure that way, mixer showers can be fraught with danger, should someone else decide to draw off cold water whilst your having a shower.

What's a 'siut'?

Get out of my head, you sexy man-witch!

Just went an acquired some flexi pipe and push-fits this very day.

Plumbing sucks arse...

I got a push-fit fitting for the waste pipe, only to discover that the piece running from the stack is outsized by a few mm. Apparently, different makes often are just over or just under, which doesn't help me.

I now need to get myself a compression fitting as this is really the only way to marry two slightly different sizes.

Bastard.
