I found these short examples of paradoxes, thought they would be good to have here, something to post over when reality seems too harsh, and fantasy is too annoying.

Ok that's them posted, I'm unsure if they'd be better in either the members arena or the community chest.

I've created a forum for philosophy and moved it there...... or dumped it in members chat..................one of those.

And none of those '60 second in thought clips are 60 seconds in length'...just a thought.
If you have any issues with the forum or it's members, for a speedier response, rather than pressing the report button, please post them here: sanctumzone.co.uk/forum/Forum-Projects--...scussion-thread.html

Good, so now we just need to think up something to say about them

The first one involving >>> :turt: is quite clever and appears to work on perception.

Because if the tortoise has always moved before Achilles arrives at it's most recent position then the paradox works.
In such way that it would be impossible for a faster object to catch up with a slower object, as the slower object will never be in the same place as it was when the faster object reaches it's most recent position.

The issue appears to be in the distance between the two, so as the faster object moves ever nearer to the slower, it needs to use point markers ever closer, until the distance between the two is so small that it's unfathomable as a measurement.

It would then appear that both objects were stationary as the distance between them had to be something, they'd be stuck in a type of time vacuum.
I guess this is why the perception of both objects and any observers would not be able to fathom out this knot in reality, therefore the shared perception needs to take no notice of this but to concentrate/focus on a position beyond the slower object, this enables the faster object to pass as the paradox is broken.
This is where my bottom line would be if it existed.

Or the space between the two objects becomes so small that the subatomic particles that make the objects become intertwined and a new object is created.
So we need to imagine all this as one of those old animated films, where images are flickered in front of a projector to give the perception of movement.
If only 4 or 5 stationary images are used to create the illusion of movement in this way, we can see the slower object being passed by the faster.
Even if we take the projection slides out of the reel/selector/processor and lay them out on a surface.
However if we use 10 million slides to show the same animated event, then it would appear to be in very slow motion, on each slide as the gap between the two objects becomes smaller, we could use more and more slides.

This means that the first pace of both objects might cover 1 animated slide, the second pace might cover 10 animated slides, as the faster object gets closer and closer to the slower object, more animated slides are required.
The animated slides will soon show no movement at all, because when we subtract the faster movement from the slower movement it means that the slower moving object can not be seen to move either.

If we then keep the slides going using Zeno's paradox then the gap between the two objects on the slides will be so small that the subatomic particles of the two objects appear to join, we then have a new object that can not be perceived so we would simply be looking at subatomic particles using very sensitive scientific equipment that is projected onto the slides.
On the other hand we simply use a twist of perception to ignore all this and conjure up a shared perception that permits us to skip over this detail.
Therefore the objects won't merge because of lack of distance between them, a new perception is created that permits the pass, I guess this is called motion. it permits one object to move away from another instead of being drawn towards it as the distance reduces between them.

It would mean that the slower object would have a kind of fire wall at it's front, therefore the faster object would have nothing to focus on except the slower object, in such instance the faster object would have no option but to merge with the slower object and a new object is created, once the new object is created it needs to replicate the faster object passing the slower object as a perception as it scurries away into a hole.
This is where my bottom line would be if it existed.
