What's up with the weather folks?

I'ts January nearly February and it's not cold , snowy , wet or windy here in Edinburgh?

It's been slightly cold over the last few days but not like winters past!

What has happened to the weather ...is the change just here in Edinburgh, Scotland or are others noticing it too?

I've had my central heating on 5 times since November

In years gone by it would have been on twice a day

yeah I've seen daffodils and snowdrops and 4 crocuses actually out

although I think snowdrops are typical for this time of year but daffodils and crocuses are not?

I spotted a lot of flower buds on one of my rose bushes yesterday. I think it's sleeted, very briefly, twice here since the onset of winter, and I've only had to scrape ice off my windscreen once or twice.

I believe it to be a reflection of our collective internal state...

It's all good though, as it means we're actually starting to notice stuff.

After the last few years I hate snow now.

Daffodils here down South, & only 1 morning ice scraping this winter

Thinking about starting my amateur gardening attempts a month early next week (is there a home grown thread on here?)

The mild weather? If in doubt blame HAARP.

Winter will be here soon, then we'll all be doomed to an icy grave. Doomed I tells ya!!

Haven't put the central heating on except for about 3 hours. Managing fine with fan heater of my 'fancy' fire in the lounge occasionally and a hot water bottle to go to bed!

The reason it's a mild winter is that the Daily Express said it was going to be a horrendous one. Whatever the Daily Express predicts, the opposite will happen.

@ dawnbreak, Yeah im just down the road from you in Falkirk and i was standing in my parents back garden last night at about 5:30pm thinking to myself "how is it so light at this time, surely that cant be our winter over already" we've hardly had any bad weather at all! I know we are just leaving the peak of our solar maximum and have had some fairly large sunspots directly facing earth lately, maybe thats got something to do with it.

I reckon it's the gays, personally.

Oh wait...we made it rain, eh?

It's been a bit windy & rainy today so far. Nothing too bad (as yet) just a good excuse to stay indoors.
