I was reading about this today, check this out for a scorecard.

It's hard to imagine how this can conceivably happen at any level of cricket.

No way! Surely not. So the rest of the team faced 37 balls to the only scorer's 86. That's some feet of knocking singles on the last ball of the over for a start!

Yeah, she did well to farm the strike to that extent, but you'd think someone would have have edged a single at some point off the other 37 balls!

This isn't even a village match, it's an under-19 representative fixture. I just found this absolutely staggering. You would think this would be absolutely impossible.

I'm going to try to nobly explain this to you!

This is what a normal cricket scorecard looks like:

This is the other innings from the same game. So there someone has scored 63, there are other scores of 19, 10, 9, 6 and 5, and someone made 0.

It's not unusual for one player to score far more than the others. But to score 1 run just requires you to hit the ball into a bit of space on the field and run 20 yards. It happens all the time in every game of cricket, dozens or even hundreds of times.

The chances of one player scoring 160 and everyone else in the team scoring 0...it's almost impossible. It's billions to one. It would be like spinning a roulette wheel 20 times and getting the same number 20 times in a row.

I'm not sure why that image made this writing go blue...

Absolutely, that no-one else managed to knock a ball into space, even accidentally, is staggering. And they won the match!

But, that's an incredibly odd score for any kind of sport isn't it (comparatively speaking)? Was it a fix?

Yeah, it's absolutely unbelievable. It will never happen again.

It can't be a fix because if you were going to fix the scores for some sort of betting purpose, you would not fix them like this because if anyone bet on this to occur it would just be such an obvious red flag. It's just an extremely unlikely thing that happened that will never be repeated.
