Armstrong is the greatest cheat in the history of sport.

Despite his - and his teams - constant denial and threats of legal action against anyone who speaks out against him he has been busted, big time.

I don't know what the media attention has been like Stateside but over here it has been pretty comprehensive.

One cycling journalist who has been on Armstrongs case for the last 10 years has had to deal with losing his job, losing his friends, threats of violence and litigation from Armstrong and his team/sponsors/backers and being hassled by the French authorities for daring to go after Mr Untouchable and tarnish their prestigious race.

It is probably political. I really don't know much about the case but from reading a few paragraphs about him in a Michael j Fox book he sounds like a decent guy. Maradona was fucked over for political reasons too I believe.

Have a little look at that and then look for the articles that David Walsh wrote exposing him. Walsh deserves a medal for his efforts in exposing the cheating shit-bag.

By all accounts the interview the cheating git gives to OW is lightweight and doesn't reveal the extent to which the story was covered up by those in authority.
It's always worth remembering that a lot of people had a vested interest in the story remaining out of the public eye. I'm just a bit pissed that the lieing, cheating fucker hasn't the balls to point fingers.

Here is an article about the recently retired Nicole Cooke in which she talks of he experience with drug cheats in cycling. Nicole was a world championship runner-up behind a cyclist who was a drug cheat. This cheat - Genvieve Jeanson - like Armstrong never failed a drug test but has confessed to have taken part in a doping programme since she was 16. 16 ffs!! And now she has sold her story, is seeing it made into a film and will reap the cash as a result.
