This must be a new low. Sorry, you can't collect the rain for your own use, it's a felony.

According to Oregon water laws, all water is publicly owned. Therefore, anyone who wants to store any type of water on their property must first obtain a permit from state water managers.

G'day Novum.

This is fucking ridiculous ... owning rain fall. What's next, the air we breathe.

I was kind of assuming you were an Aussie, maybe not! If so, you're already being taxed for the air you breathe. If not, it's coming wherever you are, don't worry!

Its already getting done in the south east and south of adelaide, south australia. You fit a meter to your dam on your property and are charged for the water you use, or you dont collect any.

I actually saw the DI moderator ozpixie speaking against it at a meeting down there, where shill independant rep of THE CROWN Nick Xenophon had to shoosh her. (quieten her)

I will react to this type of thing when I'm confronted by it, in exactly the same way I would wish to see everyone react to these things.

I remember taxing suburban household rainwater tanks, or rather metering the water coming out of them, was talked about by the former Mike Rann government in South Australia. I think they were testing the waters (no pun intended) but the feedback wasnt too good for them, so it didnt go ahead. (yet)

G'day Wake_Up_Bomb.

I don't pay taxes, so even though I am in Australia, there's no cost to me for breathing.

I remember being utterly shocked on reading a few years back that the rain water that falls on people's private property is legally owned by certain states in the USA. How the blazes did that law get sneaked through!

I cannot afford to get some household rainwater tanks cos they cost $$$$1,000's for a few good ones, ( so .... now i know why the gub was subbing them... cos they eventually wanna tax all the suburban tanks... i reckon it will happen)
