Syrian government forces have the western backed islamic extremists (al qaeda included) on the back foot, therefore it is not surprising, but very concerning that Hillary Clinton is warning of possible chemical attacks in Syria.

Syria: no-fly-zone moves a step closer as Hillary Clinton assesses "worst case" scenario of chemical attack

America is setting up a new crisis unit to deal with "worst case" scenarios in Syria, including chemical weapons attacks that could require the imposition of a no-fly zone.

During a visit to Syria's neighbour, Turkey, the US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, said that America and Turkey were creating a formal working group to provide "very intensive operational planning" for the Syria crisis.

The group will coordinate military, intelligence and political responses to the potential fallout in the case of a chemical attack, which could result in huge numbers of casualties and a further influx of refugees into Turkey.

"We have been closely coordinating over the course of this conflict, but now we need to get into the real details of such operational planning. It needs to be across both of our governments," Mrs Clinton told a news conference on Saturday after a meeting with the Turkish foreign minister, Ahmet Davutoglu.

Asked by a reporter if such discussions included imposing a no-fly zone to protect territory controlled by rebels, Mrs Clinton indicated that it was a possible option. "The issues you posed within your question are exactly the ones the minister and I agreed need greater in-depth analysis," she said, although she said no decisions were imminent.

"It is one thing to talk about all kinds of potential actions, but you cannot make reasoned decisions without doing intense analysis and operational planning," she said.

In remarks that showed Washington's bleak assessment of the future of the conflict, she added that the outside world had to prepare itself for "the horrible event that chemical weapons (are) used".

"What would that mean in terms of response, humanitarian and medical emergency assistance and, of course, what needs to be done to secure those stocks from ever being used or falling into the wrong hands?" she asked.

Her remarks come just days after a senior aide to the US president, Barack Obama, refused to rule out the eventual creation of a no-fly zone over the northern terrorities of Syria controlled by rebel forces. John Brennan, Mr Obama's senior counter-terrorism adviser, said that nothing was "off the table."

Meanwhile, fighting continued across Syria, with fresh clashes in the capital, Damascus, as well as in the country's second city, Aleppo, where fighting has now been raging for three weeks.

Syrian forces pounded a suburb of Damascus with mortars and artillery shells, a day after local rebels abducted a pro-government television crew, according to activists. It was the latest attack on pro-regime media and the latest abduction blamed on rebels in Syria's escalating civil war. The television station blamed "terrorists" and said that efforts were under way to release them.

It would seem unnecessary to discuss the actual words of Clinton here. We can all see the agenda and we can all see the propaganda.

My question is, when are the people of the NATO countries in particular going to actually do something about it?

Another warning of imminent terror from the USA. This time the warning is for a hezbollah attack on Europe with Iranian backing.

It looks like the west is intending to springjump straight from war with Syria into the next war with Iran, which has been obvious for a while, but the Syrian government seems to be holding out longer than planned. Therefore we can expect more false flags to be attempted in the near future.

I don't see it as unnecessary to discuss her words. It's important to spread the information as effectively as possible and join the gaps wherever possible. For example, there is a story that the TSA in the US intend to buy massive amounts of explosives for "dog training purposes". There have have been other stories about the possibilities of chemical weapons getting into the hands of western backed islamic extremists.

I don't agree that "we can all see the agenda and the propaganda". Some clearly do. Some clearly don't. Some of us want to know to more. Some of us think they know it all already.

What can people do? Stay clam. Don't fall for the hate propaganda. Get knowledge. Share that knowledge. Call out the propaganda merchants and each do what they feel is the right thing according to their own conscience.

Sorry Anthony, i didn't mean that we should keep quiet or not discuss it , rather that I'd like to see a bit more doing to match the talking. At present the internet is full of people like us talking about the obvious plan. Comments sections on MSM sites are full of people pointing out the propaganda and stating what they see is going on. That won't change a thing though. The plan will roll on regardless. Only when we start collectively taking action do we stand a chance of actually stopping it.

dub: the following is a reply to you, but the words are meant in a general way.

We can do both. Discuss and take action, but the action we take will vary from individual to individual.

The straw that breaks the camel's back is a small thing, but it only has it's effect because of all the straws that have come before it.

Comments in MSM articles will not change everything, but each truthful comment is another piece of straw and might provide the butterfly's wings effect that will lead to wider change.

The same applies to every thought and action that we do.

I personally believe that the rabbit hole goes very deep indeed. Far deeper than simply a materialistic interpretation. I know for a fact that there are good people working constantly on those deeper levels. Some might rubbish this concept and that is their choice. Each of us has the personal choice of either doing what we feel is right or whatever else we feel is appropriate for us.

I prefer the concept of personal action to collective action. Even the noblest of causes and ideals are hijacked as a matter of course by the powers that be. My personal feeling is that we have more to offer the world as individuals than as parts of a collective movement over which we have little control.

When terrible things are happening we can feel frustration at not being able to halt them, especially when we see these things coming and know pretty much who is behind them and even why they are doing them. But we simply can not stop some things and we help neither ourselves or anyone else if we beat our chests and pull out our hair. Action for the sake of action is seldom a good policy.

I have to say that this is the one thing that I'm not entirely sure what we can do. As long as people keep turning up to point the guns for them, then it is difficult to do anything. This has gone on for centuries, millennia even, the only thing that has changed is the sophistication of the weaponry. What I have suggested, and all I can suggest, is that people attempt to boycott the corporate system which all of these wars are ultimately fought for. This is easier said than done to put it mildly, but if it happened on a mass scale it would make a difference. In the book Confessions of an Economic Hitman, John Perkins suggests the number one thing you can do to change the system is to use less oil, for example.

However, most people have a total disconnect between the actions that they engage in on a daily basis and how it relates to geopolitics. Well, I think total disconnect is putting it politely...they haven't got a fucking clue. Most people in Britain have got no idea about their own history, and this is why you can pull the wool over people's eyes all day long. Where I live which is pretty sleepy and quiet, and people are generally quite well off, and they've been watching the Olympics on the telly and all that, it's rather difficult to convey to people the idea that they live in a state of corporate fascism. It doesn't compute with them at all, let alone any sort of connection between the way they live their lives and what's been going on in some faraway countries that they've barely heard of.
The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. The true measure of a man is this: how quickly he can respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give - Philip K. Dick.

Great post Anthony thankyou.

I probably used the wrong word when I said "collective", I agree with you that it's more a case of large numbers taking personal action that's required at this stage.

Anyway, I think I'm gonna go quiet now for a bit. I'm seeing that my words aren't coming out right and that's a sign to me that I ought to shut up for a bit.

As I said though, great post
