Oh shit!! :O
Ron Paul ends his hunt for votes

By Stephen Dinan-The Washington Times Updated: 2:43 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2012

DEVELOPING:

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas said Monday he will not compete in primaries in any of the states that have not yet voted — essentially confirming Mitt Romney will win the Republican presidential nomination.

Mr. Paul said he will continue to work for delegates in states that have already voted and where the process of delegate-selection is playing out. He said that’s a way to make his voice heard at the nominating convention in Tampa, Fla., in August.

“Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted,” Mr. Paul said. “Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have.”

He did encourage his supporters to still turn out and vote.

His decision not to compete for new votes in other states leaves Mr. Romney as the only candidate still actively fighting for voters’ support.

You should be OK - you have included a link. You might like to put a 'quote' box around the article (little speech bubble icon at top of post box) but it doesn't really matter.

I'm not surprised to see him withdraw.

It's hard to believe that there were/are people that actually thought he stood a chance at all.

I agree man. I wonder if he just ran to generate interest in the elections for a growing number of people who have begun to see what the process is about? Was he simply trying to make a statement? Like you said, he didn't stand a chance either way.

Holy crap! There's a nominating convention in town?
Bring out the !'s! and the booze and the coke-cola!

P.S. I AM from Tampa, FL, but now live in Texas. I remember all the hub bub with other presidential candidates in town dating back to JFK's scheduled appearance, which did not transpire.

Anyhoo, I don't vote and never will - too many damn crooks no matter how lovely or sensible they appear; they all end up supping at Malio's Restaurant on Dale Mabry. ;)

He's there to satisfy voters who would otherwise actually notice there is this amazing 3rd political party called the 'libertarian party' that they've all forgotton about because the media doesn't mention it at all...not ever...not once.

A bit like how the media never mentions how fractional reserve banking works.

You know...useful stuff like that every now and then :D
